i see it as i dont need a good camera/ video / internet / kitchen sink because whats the point?

I just need a phone thaty can text and ring people well.
That's the way I feel. Internet on a phone IMO isnt useful or very good. I mean if you're walking down the street you're not gonna want to use the internet I dont think, plus the services are v. limited. I still have a nokia 3310. It does text and phoning people, and is absolutely indestructible, thought the only prob is it's a bit large. Generally the more hitech or smaller the phone is, the easier it breaks. only problem is my cover is stuck on so I can't change the sim card (my vodaphone thing sucks).

What's annoying about video/camera phones it when you go to a gig everyone is so busy trying to record it on their phones (which btw comes out terrible quality) that they seem to miss the point of having a good time and are more worried about showing it off to their friends later .... i mean get a life guys lol. Plus they're the sort of things that you really wouldn't miss if you didn't have them. People I know generally only take a few pictures of their freinds to put on myspace anyway, which is hardly a deciding factor in buying a new phone IMO.

edit: try a Sagem, I've heard they're good value.

Well, what is internet used for on phones anyways? The only reason I'd want it is for email and IM stuff.

We're all ready for St. Patrick's day. Green hats, check. Green liquor, check. Clover temp tattoos we grabbed from a restaurant today, check x 43.

All this planning almost makes me want to drink, but I've got 9.5 months drink-free to go.

TimJim 03-17-2007 04:31 PM

Ollie...

My Moto L7 is one of the SLVR one's and it's indestructible.

Berk 03-17-2007 05:06 PM

Wow. Sad.

Yesterday, CNN was reporting on how Suzanne Summers lost everything
in a fire in like some wild fire.

Drum Phil 03-17-2007 05:29 PM

Well, its official. The new Pearl Visions are gonna blow.

maniac0796 03-17-2007 05:31 PM

They're just Tama superstars with one more ply, a crappy mounting system, and triple flanged hoops.

Drum Phil 03-17-2007 05:37 PM

I'd much rather have ISS than starcast.

The visions are birch and bass wood :-/

maniac0796 03-17-2007 05:40 PM

Same as Superstar...

I'd rather have Starcast, but lets not get into this **** for the 6 millionth time.

Drum Phil 03-17-2007 05:44 PM

TBH i'd rather have a simple shell mounted bracket or arm-through-the-shell than either of those.

maniac0796 03-17-2007 05:52 PM

Hmmmm

I have decided, that at the end of the day, they all do the same thing, and not one is better than the other.

Therefore, I don't care, because as long as it holds the tom up, then it's fine.

Drum Phil 03-17-2007 05:57 PM

I think all tom mounts are fundimentally flawed but the pearl Opti-Mounts are probably best.

Or mebe the new Gretsch mounts.

That's a good point. Yes, technically one mounting system might promote a bit more resonance than another.... but i'd say that a lot of the mounting systems are mostly marketing ploys.

Of course.... the 'adjustability' is a big selling point, too. Ball mounts are superior for this reason, IMO

maniac0796 03-17-2007 05:59 PM

Optimounts are good, but they sure as hell take up a lot of the drum.

And scotty, that's why i said i'd have the starcast over the ISS any day. There's a limited amount on maneuverability you can have with the ISS, unless you're willing to pay £30 for a fancy tom arm.

Drum Phil 03-17-2007 06:00 PM

Effeciency over looks.

Corkofski 03-17-2007 06:00 PM
