Went to JB to get The Division Bell today. It was the only effing Floyd CD they didn't have. They even had an imported Japanese single version of Wish You Were Here live. Anyways, I ended up buying PATGOD for 9.99. Snap!

Oh yeah, my dad lent me some Floyd DVD's, including the David Gilmour live in concert one. :amazed: It was really good! Maybe that's what spurred me to get TDB. And is there a way to get that I Put A Spell On You that he did with that chick on CD? Loved it.

PATGOD time now.

DeusExMachina 01-25-2006 11:50 AM

You could probably record the audio from that track on your computer. I love the Gilmour live DVD.

You will enjoy PATGOD.

Dave's new pedalboard is absolutely insane, the versatility of the nicest digital single pedals you can find with the quality and sound of tubes. I wish he was coming anywhere near the South :upset:

Doctor Night 01-25-2006 03:29 PM

I wish he'd come over here. I'd love to see him.

BigTrav415 01-25-2006 03:34 PM

You mean he's not touring in England? And not to Leeds at that? Hell, I live in the American South and I've heard of Leeds.

I definitly would've gotten the Japanese single for novelties sake. Sucks about the Division Bell, though, its got some increadible guitar and keyboard work. PATGOD is excellent, though.

I picked up the Final Cut on vinyl which I am listening to now! and I picked up another copy of Animals (this was different) on vinyl. Now the sleeve of one of my animals has a bluer sky and an all around lighter color, and on the first copy I bought of it, it has a reddish sky and darker tint, this is not from age, anyone know why?

BigTrav415 01-25-2006 08:16 PM

Just different prints probably, like the different WYWH vinyl covers someone posted earlier.

I would imagine it's the release date. I've seen the two pigments at diffrent times.

If you have the CD as well, whichever one is the same as the CD is probably the newer one.

That's just insane. That make my little 5 pedal pedalboard look like a fire cracker
compared to a A Bomb

I dont have the cd....I think the Bluer one is much more common, I used google Image and only found blue ones.

That's really impressive. :amaze: Kicks the crap outta mine.:p

BTW, yesterday I came across this "symphony" Floyd CD that has the orchestral recordings of some of their songs. Is this good??? I liked all the songs on the track list, so tell me if I should purchase it or not!

Oh yeah, PATGOD's going great guns for me atm. Favourite tracks are Lucifer Sam, Flaming and Gnome. I quite like Chapter 24, too. Very chilled out. :smoke:

n00bguitarist 01-27-2006 07:04 AM

Anyone like OBC (Obscured By Clouds)? I love this album. The acoustic on Wot's....Uh The Deal is great, and Free Four is such an awesome song, and was a prelude to a concept-driven Pink Floyd.

magicbus 01-27-2006 10:32 AM

OBC is really good. I love all the songs on it, especially for the guitarwork Gilmour does on "Mudmen" and the "Childhood's End" solo.

The symphonic stuff is really awesome! And yeah PatGoD is amazing work.

MidnightRider 01-27-2006 02:47 PM

OBC is one of the few Floyd albums I don't have, though I've heard it's vastly underrated/overlooked.

Today I picked up Dark Side on vinyl to kick off my Floyd record collection. :) I found it for 17 bucks, which is pretty good considering it's about 35 everywhere else I see it.

You should pick up OBC it's awsome.

Yea that is a pretty good deal. In my three or four years of collectinh vinyl I've never seen it. And I've gone looking for it a couple times.

I know I can find it on Ebay for maybe 5 bucks....but I like stumbling onto the albums I find. So I'm sure it will turn up, Being as though it sold so many millions of copys

I haven't ever payed that much for a record. Not even my original copy of DSOTM, Animals, Final Cut, Umma Gumma, or WYWH. I barely paid 25 for those (combined). I am going to a huge record store later (tomorrow) and they should have almost all of PF's vinyls..which I hope to buy. Eh, it was probably the reissue that you got....I wouldn't pay that much unless it was new.

MidnightRider 01-27-2006 03:17 PM

It's not a reissue, it's just in great condition. I'm sort of limited on where I can buy them at, there's only like 2 stores around me that sell vinyl.

Over here we have Half Price books. They have tons of them (I think somewhere around 15 in the S.A area) so there is always good selection. I've found tons of Hendrix and Who. But hardly any floyd...

Broken Arrow 01-27-2006 03:50 PM

The only viynl I own by Floyd is OBC and the Wall.

thickasabrick 01-27-2006 04:26 PM

I only own DSOTM and The Wall on vinyl. I wish I had more, but Pink Floyd vinyl is very rare in my city...everyone loves Pink Floyd.
