And if the cloud burst, thunder in your ear,
You shout, but no-one seems to hear, And if the band you're in starts playin' differant tunes, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon. |

One of my top five..or three actually, albums of all time. |
'And if your head explodes with dark forbodings too'
That line = classic |
'And if your head explodes with dark forbodings too'
That line = classic
The whole albums a classic, oh and yeah, does anyone else get this, when they listen to "Us And Them" they feel uplifted? But I actually listened to the lyrics and they're completley dark:confused:, it's so great the way they've done it. |

Anyway, what a brilliant song. I don't think there's one song I don't like off that album, I got animals last week too, what an album. |
Sax does drive the song, but it is a pretty dark song, about warfare it seems
And contains one of the greatest points in music history With, Without - and who denied its what the fightings all about God christ i love that line. |
Animals is great too. Dogs is great, but i love Sheep more.
I love how surprised everyone is when they look at a 5 track CD and it 42 minutes long...with 2 songs only taking up 3 minutes But i think Floyd is the only bands anyone could agree didnt realease one bad song in the entire decade of the 70s |

God I love sheep so much, especially the intro...and the verse...and the outro.. :p |
Dogs is my all time favorite along with Shine on You Crazy Diamond Parts 1-7. One of These Days is pretty cool too. As for my favorite lyric from Floyd its probably " And when you lose control, you'll reap the harvest you have sewn. And as the fear grows, the bad blood slowly turns to stone" from Dogs. As for the sax, Dick Parry was amazing. Us and Them, Shine On, Money, and many other songs wouldn't be so great if it wasn't for that Tenor Sax. Amazing.

I fecking love the intro for "One Of These Days" "One of these days I'm gonna git' you!!!!!!!!!!!" <awesome |
Dick Perry was just as much a genius in that band as all the others.
I actually transcribed the sax parts in DArk Side of the Moon for guitar...and their pretty though. Especially in money, theres parts where i have to tap, Whammy bar, Pull of and hammer on, bend, all that stuff in one short minute. Its actually the hardest part of the song, i just cant get my guitar to sound like a frikking sax. |
I fecking love the intor for "One Of These Days"
"One of these days I'm gonna git' you!!!!!!!!!!!" <awesome
One of the these days im gonna cut you into little peice. My favourite floyd line is Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream |

I specifically like the end of sheep, the loud guitar chords until they fade out into pigs on the wing.
I had such a hard time finding that album too. when i did, it cost 18 bucks! Now i think thats a rip, as well as Meddle, especially since thats pre-DSOTM era. I dont understand the concept of pricing floyd albums at all. |
Has anybody got 'Atom Heart Mother' because im thinking of getting it and i want to know what its like.

I haven't got it, I've heard the song "Mother" though, it's pretty good. Anyway, Dave Gilmour said this about it: "When I look back on it, Atom Heart Mother was a pile of crap" That's on the back of a dvd I've got, i dunno if he was being serious or not. |

To i am jimmy page
Heres prices and avalability i have to live with Meddle $17, seen it once about 2 years ago DSOTM $13 Everywere, even target (with worst CD selection ever) WYWH $15 Almost everywere, usually with DSOTM Animals $18 Seen it twice a couple years ago. Picked up the last copy a few months ago The Wall $32 If it is somewere, theres only 1 or 2 copies left anyway all the big time retail stores are all into new music, and even the smaller music stores like FYE and Sam Goody. Its a tragedy to music |
What would be the best album to get first?
/pulls coller and says eek in simpsons stlye
 Don't take Gilmour's word for it, I bought "The soft parade" even though everyone said it was crap. |
What would be the best album to get first?
Echoes, the greatest hits, I know I'll get slated for saying this, you can't have a "Best Of" of Pink floyd, but this is a good all round collection. "www.pinkfloyd.co.uk" You can listen to every track off it their and make up your mind:cool::thumb: |
What would be the best album to get first?
echoes - best of then see what are your fav songs and buy those albums :thumb: |
Im planning on purchasing all the albums rather than having them burned...just cause i like the artwork, the band, and it gives me somethin to be proud of...until they change the entire music format to something smaller and more confusing so ill have to buy all my music all over again.
Dam Mp3s and Ipods...Burn in Hell!! ... did i mention i want one? |
Hehe, yeah I choose to buy my albums as apposed to burn them. I'm a bit of a collecter as well. It just doesn't feel right to have a blank disc sitting on my shelf.

To hypocracy
I would personally never get a best of album. Floyd albums are made with concepts, best of albums would be too jumbled to enjoy. I never enjoy listening to a floyd song without hearing the entire album with it. I would say DSOTM which will take a while to get used to the first time The Wall which you should understand the story before listening Animals Wish you were Here then whatever from there. Wish you were here is a hard album to just appreciate, especially when your totally new to floyds style. Welcome to the Machine is my fav song on the album, but i dont just listen to it, i hear the whole album. Floyd is one of them bands the last song wouldnt of been half as good if the next or previous one wasnt there. The concepts are what make it as good as it is |

Same here, it doesn't look right does it? The only album I've ever downloaded was a Lyrnyrd Skynyrd greatest Hits. Even now I don't listen to it that much, I prefer the PURCHASHED ( ) "Pronounced Leh-nerd Skeh-nerd." |
Pfft, I got my Lynyrd Skynrd greatest hits for $7 ;). You could have easily bought it ;)
