Now I'm liking Blonde Redhead-Misery Is A Butterfly, great song. I'll be researching about them the next few days. *delighted*
Ok so heres a semi-new idea for a thread. Basically, you just post what ever song, album or artist you have really been liking at the moment. If it's a new band you could put a little bit about them, good songs etc...
So if this works well enough, we could maybe get it sticky'd ( Nacho? ). Well, a cool new(ish) band I've been listening to alot lately is These Arms Are Snakes . They are a post-hardcore,art punky band who have one EP out called This is Mean to Hurt You. Good songs to check out would be: The Blue Rose Drinking From the Necks of Loved Ones Run it Through the Dog Riding the Grape Dragon --------------------------------------- I have been listening to Neil Young's Rust Never Sleeps alot lately and have come to the conclusion that it is my favourite Neil Young album. Definately check it out! --------------------------------------- Television - Friction is one incredible song. Ahead of it's time. If you guys think this is a shitty idea for a thread just say so. If not, update with new stuff whenever you feel the need.
TELEVISION'S AWESOME! But no, haven't been listening to them! *LOL* I've rediscovered a great band called Toad the Wet Sprocket. Listening to the album Fear. Also, Carlos Santana and Mahavishnu John McLaughlin's Love, Devotion, Surrender. Great stuff there, too. |
I'm loving Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds right now. Got their best of today, it's tasty.
Also digging Missy Higgins. I got her CD today, it's delicious. |
Woah man, those are the two artists I've been digging today.
I'm also currently spinning the "Lost in Translation" soundtrack. Best soundtrack ever. |
why dont you listen to them again before u go dissing them. you only heard them at a show. donavon blows jack out of the water.
Only heard them at a show? Yeah, he played for 45 minutes. I'm pretty sure I got a decent idea of what he's like... boring. |
I've been liking The Bends lately. I'm trying to listen to more guitar music, I'm getting over electronica a bit.
|
Low and Blonde Redhead!!<3 (even if I've only heard one song from both, haha)
|
The Shins
The Modern Lovers I'm really getting into The Shins lately, they rock. \m/ |
Now I'm liking Blonde Redhead-Misery Is A Butterfly, great song. I'll be researching about them the next few days. *delighted*
Their music took me a surprising amount of time to get into. I found it a bit boring and repetetive at first, but after going back to some of their stuff, I really like it. Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, and Bright Eyes. |
iv been really into bedouin soundclash. and fake cops.
|
I'm now digging Leonard Cohen. He's one cool canuck bastard.
And I just want to reiterate how friggin awesome Missy Higgins' CD is. I didn't expect it to be this good. |
Again, YESSSS!!!
Hey, do you have much knowledge on Leonard Cohen? Because I really dig him and I've been wanting to pick up an album for some time now. |
I know that "Songs of Love and Hate" is a good album. And that Avalanche is an awesome song. Other than that, I know nothing.
|
i'm finally sitting down and listening thoroughly to Dizziee Rascal after like 8 months and i am firmly impressed...

you would, brilliant brilliant live show... |
I got the new Faint album "Wet From Birth" yesterday and have been listening to it non-stop. Awesome. And yeh, congrats to those who have discovered the brilliance of Missy Higgins.
|
Hah, typical Tapeworm persuasion. I haven't listened to Missy Higgins yet, but I'm sure I'll like her. What's a good first The Faint album? Your Hand In Mine makes me gloriously sad.. so beautiful..
|
Who knows any rising rock/indie bands in nothern illinois? One of my favorites recently broke up, Surefire, but yeah any suggestions?
|

Hah, yeah. Danse Macabre is definately my favourite Faint album. Wet From Birth has really freakin great songs on it, but there are two or three average tracks. Blank Wave Arcade is really consistent, but not to the standard and consistency of Danse. |
I've been stuck in a musical rut for a while... Not in a bad way really, it's just that I've been sticking a lot of my semi-recent favorites lately instead of discovering new favorites. Isis, Pinback, Fantomas, Mastodon, Kayo Dot, 27, Pelican, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Cardigans, etc, etc. My new discoveries, which haven't been many, haven't reached 'favorite' status.
Only difference is I've been spinning Gran Turismo by The Cardigans instead of their older indie-pop albums. |
Dillinger Escape Plan featuring Mike Patton and Radiohead has been a favorite on my playlist lately.
|
There's this newish Canadian band called NoAlternative. They aren't big at all, their site is noalternativemusic.com. They have a vid for their song called "Something Beatiful" that they play sometimes on TV, I've seen it on MuchLoud. They're a cool band, they have good music and they aren't all creepy and tattooish and insane clothing type.
|
The Radio Dept. - Lesser Matters
I really don't know what to say about this album... but I'm quite sure that lesser matters has the most breathtaking masterpieces I've listened to in a long time. Run and buy it/dl it |
Bjork
