Man, I just realized something that makes me very happy while also making me very sad. I just started a metal song for my music composition class, and I just noticed now, but it sounds dangerously like MOP. I use GP4 to make my songs so if anyone wants to hear it, I have it in midi format. I never realized metallica influenced my music playing and writing so much. Just the other day, my teacher took me and asked my why I had all of a sudden started writing all my solo's in the penatonic scale/format and started over exessivly (sp?) using fast triplets and tapping.

willis2441 02-14-2005 10:06 PM

do you think hetfield and ulrich are growin their hair back out?

metal_milita 02-14-2005 10:09 PM

I don't want them to, because personally, its a little too late IMO. They should just keep it like it is because they're fine now. I've been hearing great things about their recent shows.

CreepingDeath~ 02-14-2005 10:15 PM

People talk about Metallica's hair way to much... I just care about the music.

Yeah, but just because I think long hair > short hair.

I'd like to hear that, maan.

metal_milita 02-14-2005 11:02 PM

Things such as their getting back to their AFJA form.

I can let you guys listen to it, but I don't know how. Is there some way I can just temporarily store it (hopefully without registering into any dumbass scandal)?

ps. its not THAT metal, I just like to call it that because it makes me feel good. I've been getting mixed reviews from people that its rock and some people say it has a slightly punkish sound.

ExitSandman 02-14-2005 11:21 PM
I didn't say that Master of Puppets was on the black album...in fact I'm pretty sure it's on Master of Puppets
PERSON WROTE: "the best songs i think r Enter Sandman, Sad but true, Hit the lights, Motorbreath, leper masiah, master of puppets, call of the klutu, one and many more."

YOU REPLIED: "oh a black album kid...not that the songs are bad, but your favorite???"

Oh a black album kid?!?!?!? You know you meant that he likes black album. And obviously that's what your statement meant.
It's just a shock. The last like 100 pages have been flaming Black/Load/Reload/St Anger lovers.
Only idiots are metallica fans and yet have time to flame some of their albums.

Justice

does anybody like and justice for all... yo that was tight album one of my favorite metal albums ever, does anybody here know how to get a guitar tone like on that album?, i was thinking of getting like a MarkIV or somthing.

CreepingDeath~ 02-15-2005 12:07 AM

Yeah, I love ...And Justice For All, but I don't play guitar so I don't know about the tone thingie.

I don't know if this has been done, but has anyone noticed some patterns in the tracklisting for Metallica albums?

Mainly on AJFA, MoP, and RTL.

All the title tracks are track 2, this includes St. Anger also; the only other album named after a song.

To Live is To Die is the second to last track, as is Orion. Call of Ktulu isn't, so I guess that really isn't a pattern.

The mellower songs seem (I haven't looked at EVERY album, just these major ones) to always be on track 4; Sanitarium, One, Fade To Black.

The most explosive tracks are normally track 1 (Battery, Blackened, Fight Fire With Fire), but I guess that's true of most albums.

Anyone else notice stuff like that? Or am I just incredibly bored?

clown_phobia 02-15-2005 12:40 AM

Track 4 on the black album is a ballad as well.

I definitly noticed that too. I think I read somewhere that they tried to get out of that pattern after the Black Album, but since they were trying to "return to metal", or whatever, with St. Anger they did it again.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I saw that somewhere.

10571z 02-15-2005 12:48 AM

please explain why mettalica are better than blink 182 i dont see blink 182 rock and mettalica just suck they play like 2 hours solos and it just so boring and they suck and look like gay faggots blink 182 actually have tunes which sound kool instead of playing every note on and around the 12th fret for 10 minutes

Shut the fuck up and leave now please. :)

No band is "better" than others, its all subject to opinion, and therefore no use arguing.

This will probably get you banned. Metallica has instrumental talent, while the majority of Blink 182 does not. Music is subjective, not objective.

metal_milita 02-15-2005 12:53 AM

Ok anyways, how can I upload a 78 KB midi file onto a temporary link. I do not know how to do this properly because I have never had to, so please bear with me

metal_milita 02-15-2005 01:05 AM

ah screw it, not enough interest plus im risking getting my song jacked. i'll just leave my post where it was

could it be because metallica are metal and blink182 are alternative?

could it also be that metallica started in 1982 and made a helluva lot of money out of playing the 12th fret for 'ten minutes'

jeez man, your even more narrow minded than me!

appreciate_it 02-15-2005 02:38 AM

hmm... Justice gettin more votes in the poll than Ride or master... i don't agree.

(by the way been without a computer for a week so if this has already been discussed, please just ignore it, as i can't be Fuc*ed going through 10 pages.)

Burdcheese 02-15-2005 03:09 AM

My copy of the SKOM DVD finally came.

Probably going to have to invite lots of friends round and watch it with plenty of popcorn...

hammet_ownz 02-15-2005 03:23 AM

SWWWEET.

ill prob be the only prick in the state that buys it. shibby. i really wanted to see it at the cinema, but it was only on in the capital 400 ks away :@

mr.stratocaster 02-15-2005 04:25 AM

um why does every one hate on st anger like i know it not their best work by far and it is their most dissapointing album but why hate on jaymz, kirk, lars, and rob "is that the new bassisits name" for trying something different...........

Burdcheese 02-15-2005 09:40 AM

Because people:

a) Don't Like change

b) Like guitar solos

c) Like their albums well produced

I really have nothing against it, its quite good for the whole angry-mood thing, though of course all their other albums are superior.

Mind Revolution 02-15-2005 10:45 AM

even though its not their best, st anger wasnt that bad of an album. I lookforward to their new album

Jaymez and Lars said to kirk no solos because apparantly solos are a thing of the past!!! ???

Shaun 02-15-2005 12:51 PM

I quite like St Anger but the fact that there are no solos is not good.
