Les DeMerle - Spectrum

This is kinda cool, in a "someone should rip this album apart for samples" kinda way. Lotsa great beats, funky ****. There's an interesting cover of "Day In the Life," too.

Drive By Truckers

WOW. I've heard one song and I'll be damned if I'm not in love with them already. They are exactly what I've been looking for. I'm thinking I'll probably pick up The Dirty South ASAP.

Tangy zizzle 03-13-2006 02:31 AM

Good. good band right thurr Little Man. I'd reccomend Decoration Day or Gangstability first, then move onto Dirty South.

There's something about The Strokes that prevents me from really being a fan of theirs, but they're really good for an occasional listen. I might listen to some Icarus Line in a bit.

I know what you mean. I think they try too hard to be hip cool kids and make that more of a priority than the music.

I'm digging Black Flag - Damaged. One of the best hardcore punk albums ever.

I was out of town mostly this week.

I found a love for Chick Corea's Return to Forever, mainly due to the closing track. It's one of the greatest things I've ever heard, and Stanley Clarke's playing on it is ridiculous. Right now I'm listening to Jazz Moods by Yusef Lateef and I think I'm going to start investigating some later-day Coltrane. So, I'm in a jazz mood.
