Yeah, Oceano is mostly breakdowns.

Really boring breakdowns.

They're almost slam-death.
HAHA here's another one

please, for the enlightenment of all sentient beings, expand upon your definition of this "SLAM-DEATH"...

Slam death metal has also become popular as a sub style of brutal death metal.[citation needed] Started in the mid 1990s, slam death metal was influenced by the New York death metal scene, with bands like Suffocation including hardcore-inspired groove-based breakdowns in their songs, which in turn inspired bands of the era such as Dying Fetus and Devourment to create more brutal and technically complex breakdowns. These breakdowns with odd time signatures and syncopation were called slams, which conflicted with the frequent use of blast beats in brutal death metal, creating slam death metal

JunBringer 04-07-2009 05:55 PM

Rockin some Oceano now. I like it.

hismajestythepope 04-07-2009 05:56 PM

I never, ever liked that band.

The black singer they had a few years ago was really good though. I need to find the one video my friend filmed of them at a basement show.

JunBringer 04-07-2009 05:57 PM

Their current singer looks just like the old singer of my old band. Black scenester dude with big muscles and the same head.

hismajestythepope 04-07-2009 05:59 PM

Wait that dude's still in the band?

Cool.

Xplisit 04-07-2009 06:12 PM

i at least thought slam-death might be a reference to slam dancing but its not even that...im not just sayin this "genre" is retarded but the whole game of making new genres for every fuckin band that comes along is ridiculous.

JunBringer 04-07-2009 06:19 PM
beats the black guy in DGD doesnt it
There is a black guy in DGD?

JoshMay: I feel you there about genres. Slam Death is actually pretty big though. Sift through some blogs and you'll see hundreds if not more.
