Ornery Cephalopod 11-21-2005 09:35 PM

Went on a much needed 'downloading of stuff I haven't heard yet' spree:

Black Sabbath - Paranoid (okay, I've heard most of this before...)
Bob Marley - some best of album (ditto)
Totimoshi - ¿Mysterioso?
Dead Meadow - Shivering King and Others
Sage Francis - A Healthy Distrust
Broken Social Scene - s/t
The Magic Numbers - s/t
Animal Collective - Feels

...and I still have a bunch more stuff to spend some diggage time with.

TalkingHead 11-21-2005 09:40 PM

Eva Cassidy - Songbird
Taj Mahal / Toumani Diabate - Kulanjan
K'naan - The Dusty Foot Philospher

Don't ever pass up the chance of seeing K'naan live. It's divine.

I'm going next week.

My little brother saw the tour in Atlanta last week and met K'naan. He just came out in the crowd after his set, my bro was right up front, he said "What's up," and K'naan said "What's up, brotha?" and gave my little brother a pound infront of everyone. That's how my brother tells the story, anyway.

The Who - My Generation- The Very Best of the Who

I'm listening to the Who now. I've had this best of dealy for quite a while now, but I haven't listened to it that much. I'm gonna need to look into picking up some proper albums at some point soon though.

Little Man being Erased 11-22-2005 05:11 PM

Yeah get it. Paul's Boutique is waaaaaaay better.

SOAD - Hypnotize

Odd album. Soldier Side and Vicinity Of Obscenity might just be their best 2 songs ever, but then there's something as truly shameful as Lonely Day. I guess it's a 3.5 overall. Not as good as Mezmerize.

I love that spoken intro at the beginning at Motor City Is Burning.

Yeah, I was thinking that as well. It's weird because everyone (even the band members) said that this half of the double-album is their better one. Oh well, I'm sure it will grow on me. The lyrics in Lonely Day sure are cheesy though, but I could never take a band like SOAD seriously when they are so fucking goofy all the time. Aww, look at the widdle kids talkin' politics! Hee hee, now do the one about the pogo stick :)

br3ad_man 11-22-2005 06:48 PM

Hey Little Man, do you reckon I should review Tapey's cd? What should I say about acquring a copy?
Is it good? All the reviews I've read have been quite positive.
It's an hour and forty minute show.

the CD is kind of lame, but it's worth the cash.

it was 12 bucks for me.
