I'm not exactly sure how it works though.
Because there are two students in the car with one instructor, and they each drive. But since they both can't drive, does that time go towards both of them or just the person driving, because if it's just the person driving, it's going to take a while to get it all done. |
Ya that sucks, I'm guessing the time only goes to the driver. When we did it, we only had one person in the car and we did it in hour and a half intervals.
|
We haven't been told how long we will be going out for at a time. Probably 2 hours, but the dude said the first time will only be for like an hour.
Thankfully we got to choose the other student that drives with you. |
Drivers ed? I take it that's how you're taught to drive in the US of A?
So.. you do so many hours in a classroom and so many hours in a car? Then they give you your liscense or do you take a test of some sort? Over here (UK) its just a theory test where you answer 35 multi-choice questions and then you have to take a practical test in a car with an examiner. And you need a lot of luck to get through that (skill is fairly irrelevant to be honest). |
I'm in Canada.
Here, you have to take a test to get your G1. It permits you to drive with an adult in the passenger seat(they must have had a license for 4 years). You must also be 16 to take the test. Then you have to wait one year to go for your G2, or you can take drivers ed, pass it, then only have to wait 8 months to get your G2. To get your G2, you must pass a driving test. A year after you get your G2, you can get your G. The G test is another driving test, but much more in depth. |
Fair enough. That's comparatively technical, but makes sense that you can do extra drivers ed to get through the system quicker.
Here you can apply for a Provisional Licence at 17 (no test required), and then you can drive with anyone in the passenger seat that's held a full licence for 3 years (I think its 3..). Once you've done the theory you book your main test, and as soon as those two tests are done, you are upgraded to a full licence. Your system does stop complete morons being allowed to drive at all by having a test before you can get the G1, which is good. So G2 and G, is there a major difference? Like you're not allowed on motorways etc with just a G2 level licence or something? |
In the US you can take Drivers training or Drivers Ed when you're 15 and you can get your learners permit which allows you to drive with a family member in the passengers seat and you do your classroom hours and your driving hours then once you're 16 and a month old you have to take a written test and a drivers test with an examiner at the DMV. Then if you pass you get your license.
|
Im pretty sure that depends on state, zach. In Pennsylvania, you probably wont get your permit until you're 16.
|
Yeah DL depends on the state laws. Like I know in Texas you have to be 16 to drive alone while my cousins in Jersey have to wait till they're 17.

You are also only allowed one passenger in the vehicle after midnight. Once you have your G, you can have as many passengers are there is seatbelts. For alcohol, you can't have more than a certain amount, I'm not sure how much. |

Ya it does I should've specified that was for Indiana. So my dad was pissing me off so he started playing music really loud, like garbage music, so I went downstairs and started playing snare drum rudiments just over and over and over and over and I just kept playing and I'd stop for like 30 seconds and he would have his music louder so I'd start playing louder and I was down there playing for a bout an hour and a half non-stop and his music was blaring and I'm not conditioned haha, I'm pooped. |
You and your dad sound like youre mighty competitive.
|
My dad is a bitch and a hypocrite, about everything. Especially the loudness of my music, he is constantly telling me to turn down my music and then he is a bitch and plays his fucking as loud as he wants. He won't turn it down and I'm trying to write my effin chem paper. But ya it was intense competition and the only reason I lost is because my part actually required some effort and I got tired.
Jersey>Texas
Not really. I don't like the north too much. Too crowded. |
Jersey>Texas
Well I agree. |
Meh, the area where my cousins live, the houses are really close together. They build up rather than out. Not too much open space. Same with NY, I don't like small cramped up areas.
|
I love big cities like New York City.
|
I have never been to NYC. I would love to go though.
So, my new favourite band = Zebrahead |
Hey Pop-Punk.

Hey Stew.

Hey Stew, season finale of lost is on Wednesday. I'm pumped, wow 24 is over already, well I will download it and watch it. I hate waiting a whole week for a new episode. but I love that show.
|
I'm about to get a shower. I'll be back in about half an hour, if anybody is still on.
|
I'll be here, have fun haha.
|
Yeah, so I basicly have my life down to the exact same thing every day and it's depressing. I need something new in my life, something different. I need to get away from my family, my house, where I live.

Agree 100%, my life consists of pretty much the same thing every single day. Like my routine is EXACTLY the same and I have no variation whatsoever. I need to get away from where I am right now. My life has turned to complete crap this past week too. I need to leave. I can't wait till schools out. |
There are just some people that I just want to kill, like I really just want to kill them. A couple people, I would kill. GOD I'm pissed off.

Nice.
I havent listened to rap in so long. I dont think i know any rappers that came out after 2002. |
Hahaha, the first song on the new AFI album sounds like gangsta rap. And it actually kind of sucks. I'm disappointed. I'll have to give it a better listen sometime though and not just skip through the songs.
|
Meh, I never liked AFI, especially since all the kids that called themselves 'unique' at my school because they wore black fishnet all over their body listened to them.
|
Yeah, their old stuff was so good though. It sucks hard that they ended up the way they did, pretty much turning into what they used to be against.
|
It always sucks when a band you like changes their style.
|
I enjoyed the new album, but I'm not a big AFI fan, I don't listen to any old stuff, just Sing the Sorrow and this.
|
No wonder you like the new album then. :p
|
I never got into AFI. I need older stuff, but I doubt I'd ever get around to listening to it. I mean since I got highspeed internet, I download more than I can listen. :(
