iirc, I have ~1000kb/s download and ~300kb/s upload.

tbh, it can be weird. I've downloaded stuff at 400kB/s before... sometimes my internets really confuse me. My upload's fairly steady, though.

So I just got done experimenting with a live CD of Ubuntu I burned.
I'm totally switching over to Linux this summer.

Ubuntu is awesome. However, to heavy gamers and to people who use recording hardware with no Linux drivers, it sucks. Which means I can't use it.

And I don't use it because of the former.

Once I find some free time, I'm going to build another computer (possibly two, I [i]may[/i] have enough parts if I buy another case) out of spare parts I've collected over the years. If I get one done, I'm gonna throw Ubuntu onto it.

I'm running Gutsy right now and loving every minute of it. Compiz graphics beat anything either mac or windows have put out.

I was lookin' at their forums and all, seems like any problems I might encounter have already been looked into and have scripts to fix.

There's an entire thread on making sure every model of Vaio laptop [what I have] is 100% functional.
