Went to Ozzfest last yesterday. Mastadon was the only band on the second stage worth seeing.
Arch Enemy? I'm going on Tuesday, alone. Can't wait, just hope I can find my car after. |
I don't see why people rag on SFSGSW.
Wacken > Ozzfe$t :p |
Wacken > Ozzfe$t :p
agreed! when does Wacken start? |
Whoa, where does Wacken go to?
|
I don't see why people rag on SFSGSW.
Wacken > Ozzfe$t :p
I need to start looking for that album As for the Wacken > Ozzfest, Dragunov made a great comparison, but I did that way back before somewhere on here. I can't remember if it was in here or not...err... Ah well, went out today to a friend's house, partied a bit, swam, nearly drowned ( ) because I haven't swam in such a while. My friend and I listened to Maiden and stuff, and well I felt a lot better when I came home for some reason. That being, I took a shot at playing my guitar again, and discovered some new tricks I never knew I could do. I still have the metal running through my veins, and I can actually make some interesting rock songs too. The cool thing is that I was actually playing Bestial Invasion's second riff after the intro almost perfectly, and I always have trouble with it. The rest of the song I seem to get pretty good. As for Life Without Sense, I think I got it down pretty good, now that I discovered the main riff through a small jam. Also, my tone sounds like "Alice in Hell" Annihilator, so I'm glad it's crunchy and thrashy XD Well, then there's the good old playing of Piranha and Exodus (attack!) which I dearly love to play. Good ol' thrash at it's best. I need to really start playing some more, but not as loud or else I think I'll go deaf  |
On Megadeth: Peace Sells=Rust In Peace > SFSGSW (but only by a little bit)
|
Speaking of Megadeth, Gigantour for me is in a week. They better not suck, they didn't last time I saw them last November
|
Ah, my Gigantour date is August 24th... so long away.
But Ozzfest on Tuesday for me. |
Megadeth definately don't suck live. Saw them in about May (that long ago!) and they rocked my socks. Very professional, Dave really should get around to recording an album with the band.
As for albums: RIP > TSHF = KIMB (remaster) > PSBWB = TSHF > ... > KIMB (original mix) = Countdown > the rest. Seriously, we shouldn't underestimate how much that remastering helped. SODOM: My 2c: They've got a thrash vibe, but aren't overall thrash. I'd consider them a Death Metal band. But, not being one to discriminate due to genre I'd say "Nuclear Winter" is the greatest, the Agent Orange and Persecution Mania albums sit in the region of "OK to Good". They don't seem to offer me that much on the whole anymore: the thin production doesn't bring out whatever ideas you Sodom freaks believe the band has. I own both albums and really tried to like this band, but find I just don't play them that much. THat said, I want to legally change my name to Tom Angelripper! |
Sodom is in no way death metal. :thumb:
I don't want to see Megadeth because I'll be feeding Dave's wallet, and I'll also never get to see them play the The Conjuring. |

September 10th is when they're here for me....if I go |

If you go, yell "THE CONJURING!" the entire time. |
If you go, yell "THE CONJURING!" the entire time.
That song bores me... PSBWB borse me... But I will anyways |

PSBWB borse me... But I will anyways
Ok, yell "LOOKING DOWN THE CROSS!!!" the whole time. |
Ryan: As if pass up an opportunity to see Megadeth :p I loved them when I saw them back in May. Sucks about The Conjuring and Good Mourning/Black Friday though

It sucks HORRIBLY. Meh, I might try to see them... |
Usually the setlists are pretty good, as long as you can put up with 4 or so songs from the new album.

As long as those songs include Kick The Chair, that's probably the only song on the new album I can tolerate. I'm gonna play some Chrono Trigger. liek l8rz!!110ne |

I'm gonna play some Chrono Trigger. liek l8rz!!110ne
Yeah they played that one when I saw them. They played Back In The Day too, the second half of that song owns live. |
September 10th is when they're here for me....if I go
If that's the date, go. Its one of the Anthrax dates I'm pretty sure.
As long as those songs include Kick The Chair, that's probably the only song on the new album I can tolerate.
What about Blackmail the Universe? Anyway, I have a feeling that since they just released that greatest hits, they won't play as much from the new album. In fact, they might even bust out some Take No Prisoners, Rattlehead, and Five Magics, which would just kick ass. |
The Conjuring is a great song... its a shame Dave took it off the setlist. :upset:
|
Yeah they played that one when I saw them. They played Back In The Day too, the second half of that song owns live.
I seen megadeth when diamond head supported them in febuary it was a totally amazing gig everyone has to see megadeth at least once. They played back in the day then the guys from diamond head came one and played it with them also they played peace sells half way then cut into holy wars all the way up to where the punishment is due cuts in then back into the rest of peace sells. Insane |
If that's the date, go. Its one of the Anthrax dates I'm pretty sure.
Yeh. It's an Anthrax date, but there's no Symphony X on that date :upset: .
Ok, yell "LOOKING DOWN THE CROSS!!!" the whole time.
That'll do :) |
The Conjuring is a great song... its a shame Dave took it off the setlist.
Yeah, his new faith has turned him into a tool.
That'll do
:D |
does anyone here (apart from Disposable Hero) know of Silent Scream? They released one album called From the Darkest Depths of the Imagination. Its pretty good and was produced by Gene Hoglan.

^
Feel free to upload some tracks for the MX thrash masses if you don't mind. |

I've heard two songs, and they were great. Yeah, upload like two or three songs, pretty please with chocolate sprinkles and cookies and a cherry on top :D |
Yeah, that would be cool. Just ordered the Atheist box set. Very awesome.
Np: Morbid Saint-Scars |
Yeah, that would be cool. Just ordered the Atheist box set. Very awesome.
Np: Morbid Saint-Scars
I've got two original copies, but I'm contemplating buying that box set. Either that or the Sacrifice rereleases when they hit shelves. I need those albums on CD, because my tapes are shot. |
Ugh, all these CDs I need to buy... Still have to get the Eternal Nightmare rerelease... and now Sacrifice, plus I'm going to end up buying if I can't download Handle with Care, Illusions/Chemical Exposure, RIP, and The Ultra Violence.
