That's why I said I was going to steal it... But my avatar is WAY too hot....

ShelBel 10-05-2004 10:09 AM

I've been thinking about changing my avatar, but I haven't bothered yet. Besides- I enjoy looking at Mr. Taylor every once in a while. He just brightens my day a bit. (Leftover fangirly stuff from when I was a teenager...)

PaulSimonon 10-05-2004 10:11 AM

You can have mine and feel your day get worse!

ShelBel 10-05-2004 10:15 AM

Why would I take yours when I can see it every time you post? ;)

nisakss 10-05-2004 10:28 AM

Man, is there anything sexier than a woman playing an instrument? I saw yesterday a girl playing cello with a band in the school across my office, and she was really pretty, tall, black hair, black eyes, and she was so into her playing, really enjoying it. It made me wanna talk to her. I definetely need a musician g/f!! :D

Accentopus 10-05-2004 11:14 AM

How about a girl doing two handed tapping whilst doing something esle :naughty:

moxshyfter 10-05-2004 11:18 AM

Accentopus 10-05-2004 11:20 AM

JamminOnMy4String 10-05-2004 11:20 AM

a girl doing some awesome slap bass would win me over..

PaulSimonon 10-05-2004 11:29 AM

I just wish I had a girl...... :upset:

Rollo47 10-05-2004 11:43 AM

I love bragging about this:

My girlfriend plays bass :D

PaulSimonon 10-05-2004 11:45 AM

You lucky bastard.

ShelBel 10-05-2004 11:54 AM

I have *so* got to learn to slap/pop... I just haven't bothered yet. Fiddled with tapping the other day- it was easier than I thought, but then again, I wasn't trying to do anything, I was just pulling random notes out of thin air.

Maybe I can con Travis into a quick lesson next time the band is in town...

Slap is almost as addicting as coffee :thumb:

Vandiegrrrl 10-05-2004 12:09 PM

It's so true, very addictive! I've been slapping all day! I've only gone and got it! (after weeks of messing with it :( )
Been a very productive day.

Accentopus 10-05-2004 12:18 PM

Double thumbing is addictive for me. I must have spent days practising that a while ago

Espbassor 10-05-2004 12:18 PM
Slap is almost as addicting as coffee :thumb:
I'm not actually a big fan of slap. Seriously, I know the technique and can use it, just not a fan for it. I'd rather just use me fingers, tap a bit here and there, maybe flamenco a bit, but thats all. Maybe when my theory catches up with my skill and I can improvise slap lines better I'd like it more but right now I can do without.

Meh, I've only been on octaves and 5ths, and minor pentatonic scales for slap, with a few hammerons and pulloffs, a bit of double thump, and it doesn't sound good, just bland, generic slap.

Espbassor 10-05-2004 12:29 PM

Yeah, that and I think a lot of people (even if not on here) sees slap as the "end-all" bass technique, which isn't true at all. Its a good technique but there's a bunch more out there.

My goal now is to become insanely popular, like blink/britney popular. Play roots the entire time, then one day just bust out a crazy 2 handed tap solo

ShelBel 10-05-2004 12:31 PM

Holy sh!t I think I'm dead... I just tilted my head to one side and got this INSANE crack all the wai up in my neck...

Am I still here? My vision went wonky for a sec there...

Espbassor 10-05-2004 12:33 PM

Welcome to the land of the dead! That'll be $20 to get into heaven, but since I'm a nice guy, I'll let you in for 10 :thumb:

ShelBel 10-05-2004 12:34 PM

*wails*

But I don't believe in Heaven! I don't want to be here!

:thumb:

PaulSimonon 10-05-2004 12:35 PM

I"d like to play flaminco. Seems mad hard, as well as actually two hand tap something.

Espbassor 10-05-2004 12:35 PM

Well make up your mind now, either way it's $10 to go there, do you have the money or not?

PaulSimonon 10-05-2004 12:36 PM

"Whe she gets there she knows, all that glitters is BROWN"
PRIMUS!!

They are both sooo easy its funny. I love when people are awed by it, cause I'm thinking "hey anyone can do this!"

Accentopus 10-05-2004 12:37 PM

Heaven is a land where all bass guitars are custom-build and free

I just need songs to give structure to my two handed tapping. I am lost when it comes to flamenco.... which leads me to...
Recomendations for tapping songs?
