Is it better then the debut?
hard to say because i listened to that one really extensively.

maybe someday it will be, once i've digested it fully.
So who did you murderize?
Yo' fat ass.

I'm listening to The Dictators right now, pretty good stuff. NYC proto-punk band, think sort of a sleazy proto-punk version of The Who.....ah, I'm not too good at describing what they sound like, just go download some stuff by them.

I've been listening to the VU albums while reading Frank Miller's Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. It's been a very enjoyably 4 hours.
Before I thought I knew what you meant, but since you're applying it to this show, I have no idea. Zombie music?
Thats what I call some of the tracks that bore me, there were only 2 though.

Your next show should be called "defeating the zombie music"

br3ad_man 03-10-2006 12:03 AM

Been listening to the new Liars album mainly.

D1ck Cheney's D1ck 03-10-2006 12:20 AM

Truuuue dat. I love that song especially.

My scheduled pre-bedtime album tonight is Toby's solo album, which will happen in just a couple minutes, so truuue dat even more.

My diggin' today was pretty much just my pal's rap mix CD. Mainly Ice Cube and Eminem. Dig.

Little Man being Erased 03-10-2006 04:00 AM

The Smiths - Strangeways, Here We Come
The Roots - Phrenology
Binary Star - Masters of the Universe
The Smiths - The Smiths

I cannot profess my love for that Binary Star album enough. I must have listened to it every day this week.

Phrenology, on the other hand, is very very good in parts, namely "The Seed 2.0" and "Water" but it has too much filler to be a really great album.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 03-10-2006 04:13 AM

Guided By Voices - Bee Thousand [what other GBV should I get?]

Zmev 03-10-2006 04:18 AM

Alien Lanes, Half Smiles of the Decomposed.

br3ad_man 03-10-2006 07:14 AM

Do The Cure have any songs better than "Close To Me"? I'd forgotten about it. Damn that song is amazing.

I got that Binary Star album the other night. I have to sort out the track order before I play it though.

reverend ana t 03-10-2006 07:59 AM

Just about the entire Bloodflowers record > "Close to Me"

But lately digging Japanther.

In jail, without the bail. In jail, without the bail

I think the best line on that album is the one about being weak in the knees like Christopher Reeves.

Bartender 03-10-2006 12:06 PM

Nothing much new to talk about, except that The Correct Use of Soap is now awesome, instead of just good.

Also, I seem to have an album - Innocence Mission's Glow - sitting in my overfull Amazon shopping basket. I have no idea why. Does anyone know if it's worth keeping there?

pixiesfanyo 03-10-2006 01:20 PM

Sigur Ros - ( )

Track 8 has the best conculsion ever.

How does it compare to they were wrong, so we drowned, and they threw us all in a trench and stuck a monument on top?

Luxor 03-10-2006 05:09 PM

Boys Night Out 8-)

Ornery Cephalopod 03-10-2006 05:13 PM

The Coral - The Invisible Invasion
NIN - The Downward Spiral

And I'm planning on putting on a Super Furry Animals album other than Mwng, I've been overplaying that one without having ever really given any others a proper full listen. And then maybe one of the less common post-metal-ish bands... like Minsk... or Mare... or Yeti... or 5ive... I dunno, I'll burn that bridge when I get there, as the kids are saying these days.

Interstate 03-10-2006 05:36 PM

Scary Kids Scaring Kids
Panic! At The Disco (well the one song that I have)

Plus a few other artists, I've only just started downloading music onto my new pc today so I don't have much, I haven't uploaded any cds yet either.

Happymeal 03-10-2006 05:36 PM

I finally listened to Musik von Harmonia. So far I still prefer Neu!'s Neu! '75 over it since I'm not an avid fan of ambient/droney music but hopefully it'll grow on me in time. Zap, you don't disappoint. So that and Hot Snakes' Automatic Midnight and Gordian Knot's Emergent.

Daniel! 03-10-2006 05:45 PM

The Velvet Underground - s/t

I have all four of the VU's studio albums, and they are all great, but there's always something that keeps me from being able to enjoy it all the way from beginning to end. Except for this one. Every song is easily listenable, even Murder Mystery. This might be my favorite VU album now. Pale Blue Eyes could very well be the best song they've ever made.

Glitterati 03-10-2006 07:02 PM

Pale Blue Eyes is such a quietly beautiful song.

I'm in need of some uplifting music right now, so I put on The Cars.

It's my fave, too.

Listening to Magazine for the first time. I went out to hunt for Harmonia, couldn't find it. Got Magazine's first two albums instead, $16. Not bad I think. I've been meaning to look into these guys for a long time.
How does it compare to they were wrong, so we drowned, and they threw us all in a trench and stuck a monument on top?
I wouldn't know, this is the first time I've heard or heard of this band.

Daniel! 03-10-2006 08:02 PM

Television - The Blow Up

To see these guys live in their prime would be the greatest thing ever, but since that is impossible, this is the next best thing.

Rwake is fun. Nice n' heavy southern sludge metal with some post-metal feelage.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 03-11-2006 05:19 AM

The Dismemberment Plan - Change
Les Savy Fav - Inches
Bolt Thrower - The IVth Crusade

Broken Bricks 03-11-2006 06:39 AM

I don't usually pay attention to music from a video game but when I got FIFA 06 I find the soundtrack exceptional, and I've been listening to some of it lately:
The Bloc Party - Helicopter
Embrace - Ashes
The Duels - Potential Futures
The Doves - Black And White Town
Manga - Bir Kadin Cizecskin

and I'm always listening to The White Stripes , although it's usually their old stuff as opposed to their new:)
