What do you think of this?
It's intriguing. It is less accessible and more idiosyncratic than I had predicted. I don't LOVE it, but I think it's a very cleverly crafted and truly interesting set of songs.

Wanker 11-20-2005 05:23 PM
Explosions in the Sky - The Rescue (is this unreleased? What are some details on this?)
People on the mailing list for the entire series of albums that came out of Temporary Records got the album in the mail. There were only several hundred copies I think. I saw the cds going for $40 on ebay.

Luxor 11-20-2005 06:34 PM

Yeah mine wasn't really working the past couple days either. Seems alright now though.

The Great Decay 11-20-2005 09:34 PM

My mom bought me one of their cds when I got my first ever stereo.

Zappa 11-20-2005 09:36 PM

How could you possibly listen to 12 of their tunes, provided you dislike them, without exploding?

morrissey 11-20-2005 09:37 PM

That's a question for the ages.

YDload 11-20-2005 09:42 PM

Deep down, all girls have really bad taste in music.

then again, so do i. but that doesnt necessarily mean that i am a girl :(

Little Man being Erased 11-20-2005 09:52 PM

98 Degrees should never, ever be given a fair shot.

Happymeal 11-20-2005 09:57 PM

Lifetime
Grandaddy
Lovage

The latter two make my headaches go away.

Glitterati 11-20-2005 11:14 PM

I'm really digging A Tribe Called Quest's The Low End Theory. I put off listening to it for a while out of sheer laziness, and I'm just now starting to listen to it. I'm stunned by how great some of the lyrics are, which is amazing because we all know rap sucks.

Little Man being Erased 11-20-2005 11:23 PM

Queens of the Stone Age - Lullabies to Paralyze
Refused - The Shape of Punk to Come

I don't know how I've missed out on this for so long. Great album.
That actually made me laugh. You spout on about your underground emo and hardcore bands, but you don't own or know this album? shit son...

But anyway, awesome disc. Best punk album ever. Nuff said.

br3ad_man 11-20-2005 11:50 PM

Yeah.

Tangy, I've been listening to Johnny Cash all day. I think he will soon become one of my favourites.

Tangy zizzle 11-20-2005 11:51 PM

Good.

I love listening to him on Sundays. One, for the obvious reason, but also because his music allows you to think about other things but satill be affected.

br3ad_man 11-21-2005 12:13 AM

Do you think Folsom Prison is his best? So far I only have that, San Quentin, that one I told you about on MSN with his wife and one called A Believer Sings The Truth.

I like Folsom the most.

Tangy zizzle 11-21-2005 12:42 AM

Um San Quentin is probably his best, but it's not my favourite. I only have like 4 "classic" Cash albums. The rest are the American Recordings recirds and a best of.
