Soccer, boo!

I'd rather cut my ear off with an olive fork than sit through a soccer game.

If I ever find myself watching soccer on TV, I occasionally break out laughing because of how boring it is.

I like english :smoke:
I can get a high mark with my eyes closed and I bet that I still make daily mistakes here :D But hell..

I hate gramar, I always do english on feeling.

And.. Nothing wrong with theology :p

neal_672 05-25-2005 04:18 PM

Spiff don't desert me :upset:

But you Americans only have one good sport: Basketball

Baseball is just rounders (a girls game i might add) with added hotdogs.

American Football is Rugby for wusses

Actually Hockey can be ok, but gets a bit boring...

Baseball is amazing. I don't care if you insult baseball, but DON'T YOU DARE SAY A WORD ABOUT MY BELOVED WORLD CHAMPION RED SOX. :p

You're right about American Football.

Hockey is Canadian.

Fun fact: lacrosse, invented by Native Americans, is the national sport of Canada, NOT hockey. :amaze:

Hockey is nice! And there are A LOT OF chicks who play hockey :naughty:
Field hockey I am talking about..

Spaceman Spiff 05-25-2005 04:37 PM

So, every year at the school I go to there is a musical theater class, and that class does a full length musical for the school/parents to come and see.
This year they did the musical Crazy For You, and when I went to see it today I was expecting crap for two reasons: first, it's a musical, second, it's a high school performance.
It turned out that it was a two and a half hour show.
Anyway, it was actually an excellent show. The singing was all very good, everyone had the choreography for the dancing down, lots of tap dancing, and everyone knew all their lines. It was filled with good acting as well.
Although there were a few mistakes, they were recovered from very well, one of them I had to ask one of the people in the show if it was supposed to happen because the recovery was amazing, it fit in perfectly.
All in all, it was a great show, much exceeding what I had expected.

^^ Nice to hear spiff :smoke: (ABOUT THE MUSICAL!! WAIT FOR THE CHICKS :p )
We also have such a thing at christmas every year.

Not trying to prove myself or something, but last year they were all talking about: blablabla the band is rubbish etc. And last time some mates and I joined the band (piano, drum, guitar and me on bass) and they were all talking like: YEAH that band has improved a lot! We also had a great show for everything this year.. dancing, acting.. It just depends on the year :thumb: Think about wine.. (I would love a sweet white wine now.. I am a wine lover  )

Keep going. You're doing great with English. It seems like it's a first language for you. :p

Have you gotten into any English poets/authors yet? Some of it may be too deep for you right now, but if you need reccomendations for English/American authors, you can ask me.

Mark Twain = the greatest American satirist (one who satires, or uses sarcasm and comedic cruelty to prove a point against something...I saved you a dictionray trip :p). His short stories are hysterical.

I was laughing out loud the whole time reading his short story "The Great French Duel." I suggest you all read it.

HA that sounds nice Gav :p
I have plenty of free time coming up when I finish my exams! And the problem with the dictionary is how to write things, I have quite some words in my head :thumb:

I haven't been able to lay my hands on English authors etc. Except for Davey Havok from AFI ;) One great guy with great lyrics and a great band.. But I guess that doesn't count for real poetry.

I've written that down, Mark Twain - The great French duel. (I knew about satirist, 'satire' is the same thing here only against the Queen ;) ) I am going to the libary next week after the exams.. Any more reccomendations?

Spaceman Spiff 05-25-2005 04:51 PM

I'm contemplating seeing the musical again tomorrow to get out of my afternoon classes at school.
Today I got to miss my morning classes.

/me <3 Fish

Spaceman Spiff 05-25-2005 05:01 PM

Good books?
The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, the whole series, which includes:
-The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy
-The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe
-Life, The Universe And Everything
-So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish
-Mostly Harmless

neal_672 05-25-2005 05:03 PM

I'd disagree their newest album was excellent! Fish was awesome though!

I <3 Hitchikers!

Edgar Allen Poe's SHORT STORIES...stay away from his poetry. It's horrible.

Umm...there's a few more that come to mind but they'd be a little tough to understand. I can barely understand them.

Emily Dickinson would be pretty good...her language is simple but what's behind the words is mindblowing.
