I can sense that a few of you are going to ruin this.

thickasabrick 11-14-2004 01:00 AM

so who's gonna be keeping track of these then?

RockAndRoll 11-14-2004 01:06 AM

why not let badmoon, it was his idea.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 11-14-2004 01:07 AM

^Me? You? Badmoon?
why not let badmoon, it was his idea.
Go suck a railroad spike. I didn't think it'd be taken so seriously, so I'm not keeping track.

We all have to agree on them, and don't sprout up random songs that you assume we all like. For instance, "Whipping Post".

It's been known that most of us love "Fire on the Mountain", and when the site was first posted, the users who were ignorant to Phish loved "Julius".

So, those would obviously be picks.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 11-14-2004 01:14 AM

^How is that different?

that was a little harsh.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 11-14-2004 01:18 AM

I think if we are going to do this we need to set some rules.

Badmoon 11-14-2004 01:19 AM
^How is that different?
The songs don't just spring up.

Like...

"I like "American Pie". Do you like "American Pie"?

"Yes, I do like "American Pie". Add it to the list."

They should have some kind of history in the thread. Which was my original idea, but do what you want with it.

Suck on a railroad spike? That's pretty weak. What would that do? Maybe get someone sick? Use more harmful advice, eg "Drink a tall glass of bleach" or "Play Russian Roulette with an assault rifle".

Also, if we're going to go by your system, the entire ****ing list would be Grateful Dead songs, because that's all everybody seems to talk about in this thread.

Only Regulars to this thread can add songs

I think you're putting a little too much though into that.

If we were going by my system, you would have to have a little history in this thread, or you'd be clueless to the songs chosen. Which would tell you that only recently have we really been discussing The Grateful Dead..

Against Miik! 11-14-2004 01:30 AM

Funkadelic- Free Your Mind and Your Ass Will Follow

Fair enough.

See, a definite non-pick. Being that "Funkadelic" has only been brought up like once in this thread. And it was when Rock Not Roll announced he was putting them on poll he made a little while ago.

:upset:

I just think that is the greatest song title in music history, so it was worth a shot.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 11-14-2004 01:42 AM

I think he was joking.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 11-14-2004 01:43 AM

Whipping Post Anyone?

I know :o

None want Whipping Post?

lunch998 11-14-2004 09:56 AM

We all love "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". Anytime theres a favorite Beatles song topic, that comes up constantly.

Happiness is a Warm Gun>While My Guitar Gently Weeps IMO

Nothing against George Harrison.

Yea maybe, but I just noticed that While My Guitar Gently Weeps came up so much. I figured we would all agree on that one.

 This song rules! This is on The Simpsons when Homer's freakin' out squares. :thumb:

That one's funny. The epidsode where Homer goes to Rock n Roll fantasy camp was on the other day, that's a good one too.

Badmoon 11-14-2004 01:05 PM

I like the episode where Homer becomes a hippy, and he accedentally distributes LSD into the vegtable drinks. And Flanders is sitting on the bench while the Pink Floyd hammer's are passing by, Dead Bears, the Grateful Dead Skeleton saying "Mornin' Ned", and Rolling Stone Lips blowing a kiss at him.

That's a good episode.

wanton 11-14-2004 01:06 PM

Since no one is contributing, how about

Cream - White Room

We talk about Cream a lot and I think most like that song.

*doesn't know if he's considered a regular :upset:

Badmoon 11-14-2004 01:07 PM

That's a good pick. :)

EDIT: Actually we seem to take about "Tales of the Brave Ulysess" more.

RockAndRoll 11-14-2004 01:13 PM

we talked about a day in the life quite a bit.

wanton 11-14-2004 01:15 PM
EDIT: Actually we seem to take about "Tales of the Brave Ulysess" more.
Either one, they are incredibly similar.

5 MINUTES ALONE 11-14-2004 01:16 PM

Queen destroy!

Badmoon 11-14-2004 01:21 PM
Either one, they are incredibly similar.
Yeah, and that's why I don't look as fondly at Cream as other people do. It pisses me off.
Queen destroy!
Destroy what?

Err, are we still going that best songs thing?

Badmoon 11-14-2004 01:23 PM

Does everyone agree with "Julius" from Phish. And what was that Procol song?

BludgeonySteve 11-14-2004 01:25 PM

I agree with Julius.

err A Whiter Shade Of Pale or Conquistador.

Badmoon 11-14-2004 01:30 PM

Conquistador

RockAndRoll 11-14-2004 01:32 PM

good call, some Procol Harum.

RockAndRoll 11-14-2004 01:33 PM

what about me and my uncle?
