Way to go Luke.

Way to go.

Spaceman Spiff 09-25-2004 10:42 PM

i was at my aunt and uncle's house tonight for yom kippur (i believe is the jewish holiday, i may be one but don't exactly follow it/care) and in their basement they had a huge collection of albums and stuff on vinyl so i decided to look through it.
between records of The Who, Frank Zappa, other good stuff and a lot of bad stuff, one record really caught my eye. this was a Weather Report record with Jaco on it, it may have been live but i don't know for sure. it had songs such as Teen Town, Slang, Birdland, and others that i don't remember.
i wanted to listen to it so badly all night but unfortunately for me, their record player is broken. i have never had the chance to hear any of these songs so i was really disappointed.

I know. It was like, my eyes were watering. It's ok, I went to get some air-freshener spray, and it's all better now.

KaZaA = win.

Do you have a record player? you could have asked to borrow it.

iMesh > Kazaa

:amaze:

Foxfire 09-25-2004 10:48 PM

BitTorrent > iMesh

Spaceman Spiff 09-25-2004 10:49 PM

no, if i had a record player i definately would have asked if i could borrow it. i wanted to listen to it so badly all night, but i guess i won't be able to unless next time i go there they have a new record player/have that one fixed.
but now i'm listening to Tom Waits and i love his creepiness, he's awesome.

:amaze: 09-25-2004 10:49 PM

...you got me.

:amaze:

Foxfire 09-25-2004 10:50 PM

;p

How about we settle on this...

BitTorrent>iMesh>KaZaA-Lite

Crapdragoon 09-25-2004 10:52 PM

or

ME >> all else

What about mp3search.ru > ALL for mp3s

Foxfire 09-25-2004 10:55 PM

 I'll have to check that out.

:amaze: 09-25-2004 10:56 PM

Ugh ... I just ate an entire can of Fruit Cocktail, and drank the juice. I don't feel so hot right now.

:amaze:

Foxfire 09-25-2004 10:57 PM

morpcat that site is CRAZY. I wish I had a credit card on me! I'd grab the entire Primus discography.

:amaze: 09-25-2004 11:00 PM

You have to pay to use that site? NM ... i was going to check it out.

:amaze:

Foxfire 09-25-2004 11:05 PM

1.30 per album = win.

Particularly if you're impatient like me. Especially in the cases of harder-to-find-stuff...

...like the entire Primus discography. :D

e p 09-25-2004 11:05 PM

Its barely anything though, like 1.30$ and album depending on its length. Pretty good deal.

Foxfire 09-25-2004 11:07 PM

Exactly.

Entire Dream Theater albums for 1.30-1.60$ EACH is awesome.

:amaze: 09-25-2004 11:07 PM

Yeah ... but If I am going to pay, I like to have the real thing. like the real cd, with the cover art and stuff. I dunno, I'm weird.

:amaze:[/QUOTE]

I'm like that.

morpcat 09-25-2004 11:19 PM

Guys, learn to use the free preview to listen to any full length song and have it download an m3u in about 30 seconds...

e p 09-25-2004 11:19 PM

You could compromise and by the cheap cd off of that site. Then after you've saved up, buy the real thing.

:amaze: 09-25-2004 11:25 PM

I usually just buy real cds used ... and don't worry about downloading them.

e p 09-25-2004 11:34 PM

Luke, you should use your midi skills for the next comp. Cover a song with all the instruments playing, except the fruity-drums. A James Brown cover would be cool.

:thumb:

:amaze: 09-25-2004 11:37 PM

Midi skills? I though midi was the stuff that's fake ... which the drums is all that I don't do. I'm confused.

:amaze:

e p 09-25-2004 11:40 PM

My bad.

Composing skills. The drums would be the only thing Midi I guess. But still, you seem to have a knack for those nulti-track songs.
