Just got done listening to Beck - Odelay! It had been quite awhile.

Now I'm listening to The Persuasions singing Frank Zappa songs. Absolutely amazing.

Lee "Scratch" Perry - Panic In Babylon." If I was writing a Master's Thesis on "The Impact of Cannibus sativa on Human Musical Cognition," I would merely submit this album.
Wilderness - Wilderness
That's some good stuff right there. I love the piano track at the end.

Electrocution 11-19-2005 07:32 PM

I like Wilderness. Let's speculate on whether they named themselves after the Joy Division song.

I'm listening to Outkast's Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik and it's pretty great.

Robert Crumb 11-19-2005 07:50 PM
If I was writing a Master's Thesis on "The Impact of Cannibus sativa on Human Musical Cognition," I would merely submit this album.
I would just submit Lee Perry. He's pretty short. I think I can fit him into one of those manilla folders.

Oh yeah, on topic:

The Magic Numbers
Thelonious Monk with John Coltrane
Mantronix

The Magic Numbers album kinda sucks. Sorry Iai.

The Clientele - Strange Geometry

and
I saw Gus Van Sant's movie Last Days. My friends didn't see much in it, but Van Sant's movies can really move me. They're glacial but they pay attention to the little and showcase their characters in such a unique, honest way. His reality is very close to the reality that we actually live in. This particular film was 'loosely based' on Kurt Cobain's last few days of life. His shuffling, strung out demise - a brutal sight.
