I don't listen to any tech metal bands really. I don't even know if DEP are even considered it, but I hear no hardcore influence in their music, just very technical metal.

How many of you here are actually in bands? I sing for a metalcore band called Harbinger.

My band is looking for a singer, but last page I said we might of found someone. We showed him 2 songs we did a crappy recording of and he said he dug the sound a lot. The songs were more old-school hardcore.

Does your band have any mp3s or anything?

We don't have any MP3's yet. We are still sort of a fledgling band, we are still looking for a full time bassist.

Metalcore-ish. Our sound has been compared to converge, although I don't think we sound a lot like them.

Yeah, I'm not to sure of the future of my band. Mainly because one of our guitarists is a HUGE ego maniac and "whatever he doesn't like we are not doing". He basically wants our song to be long solos. I'm beginning to hate him.

My thing is just a problem finding members. Like my screamo band is going to be me and my buddy who I just got into it like 6 months ago. Me on guitar, him on drums, probably both vocals. Not sure yet, I only have like half a song written. The hardcore band I'm probably going to be doing guitar, maybe vocals instead but at this point guitar, same drummer from the screamo band, and then the bassist is a punk friend of mine. He listens to some hardcore, but we share the exact same views on politics, the scene, etc.
