I reckon that the genre rap-rock (see RHCP pre 1995) gained momentum from Dylan's song Subteranean Homesick Blues

Creedence Clearwater 10-11-2004 06:53 PM
Nice :thumb:. You don't see many teenage CCR fans anymore. You're alright in my book :)
Pick me, pick me, I am ever so keen.

BludgeonySteve 10-11-2004 06:54 PM

Hahaha, well I did say "Many" teenager CCR fans. There are some.

You're also alright in my book :)

Creedence Clearwater 10-11-2004 06:56 PM

You have a book, can I see it, does it have pictures of John Fogerty.

BludgeonySteve 10-11-2004 06:57 PM

Well... You guys are all an exeption. Musicians generally like better music than non-musicians.

jpj 10-11-2004 06:57 PM

i am also a teenage CCR fan

Creedence Clearwater 10-11-2004 06:58 PM

About the book.......

MalcolmYoungRock 10-11-2004 07:17 PM

This would be an interesting topic...

but how'd you start listening to classic rock?

I started by my friend showing me Stairway to Heaven (cliche, I know)

But it was great.

That's how my classic rock journey began :D

jpj 10-11-2004 07:19 PM

there were two events that really got me into classic rock. watching the zep dvd and listening to my cousin's steve miller band young hearts cd.

Wow...

My friends dad turned to dazed and confused on the radio. When I got home I downloaded it, and before I knew it, I spent the whole summer knee deep in Zeppelin research. This then grew to Floyd, Clapton, The Doors, etc. And it still grows! :thumb:

I've always loved classic rock, from when all I knew about it was it was the cool stuff my dad played in the cd player up until today. My music tastes have never made that great of a change, I've never liked stuff such as the spice girls.... (they make me want to crush a cinder block on my chest, or head depending on the song). Sure when I hear something new I have to make a new decision on it, but my tastes haven't really changed.

Would like to hear people's opinions on a great Classic Rock quote.. For a senior quote that is...I've known I want a classic rock quote, but not quite sold yet on what I want it to be...any idea's?

"Living is easy with eyes closed...Misunderstanding all you see" - The Beatles

deckstar_1 10-12-2004 12:51 AM

I got into classic rock after watching the movie Dazed and Confused. After the movie finished I sat there writing down all the bands that were in the credits then downloaded them. I've never looked back

[edit] To jpjrulestheworld I wasn't on at 3 in the morning, I live in Australia where it was more like 3 in the afternoon :)

"How can you have any pudding if you dont eat your meat?!"
im not sure if that would work as a senior quote, but ive always thought it was a cool line.

"Hey you! Yes, you! Stand still, laddie!"

a good quote would be another Beatles one: 'Yesterday all our troubles seemed so far away, but now it seems they're here to stay'.

you could tie it in with cuurent events.

if the lyrics are wrong, then it's probably the Joker, steve miller band, but if they're right, i don't know.
