Also, I have a question for the technologically brilliant people:

I just got an external hard drive to put all my music on. When I want to remove it, I go to the taskbar and select "Safely Remove Hardware." I follow the steps, but I get a message that says "This device cannot be stopped, please try again later."

So, can I just shut down my computer, and then unplug it? Or how can I safely remove the hardware without that stupid message popping up?

Because, man, if I lost all my music, I would cry/be upset/make a thread about it on MX :(
