Is Shake the Streets their best? I've been looking for this kind of band for a while, and YES I LOVE IT. |

Is Shake the Streets their best? I've been looking for this kind of band for a while, and YES I LOVE IT.
Depends. The very first album is like lo-fi weirdness. I don't have it though. The Tyranny of Distance has longer, looser jams (with some cool guitar freakouts and whatnot). Shake the Sheets has tight, concise and energetic pop songs. Hearts of Oak is literally like the middle ground between the two (which makes sense, I guess...) Shake the Sheets is my favorite at the moment. |
Then I would probably like Shake the Streets the most.
My god, why didn't I check them out earlier. |
*sheets
|
my bad
so yeah i'll get that one |
I really like Tryanny of Distance better. The second track is awesome. I lost my copy of Shake the Streets :(
|
Hearts of Oak is my favourite.
|
Hearts of Oak is the only thing I have but it's goooooooood.
|
Hearts of Oak is the best all around album, Tyranny of Distance has the best single song (Timerous Me), shake the sheets is good.

i've been listening to Gus Black a lot lately! he kinda reminds me a little of Ryan Adams in the good ol' days!
he has a new album coming out on the 21st of this month! you've probably heard his music before & just didn't know who it was. he's been featured on a lot of popular tv shows like One Tree Hill, Smallville, and Alias. here's a link to his myspace profile where you can listen to a few of his songs. Greg Davis & Sébastien Roux - Paquet Surprise
GBV Constantines - Shine A Light |
Sufjan Steven's latest album Illinois. It's 20+ songs of pure greatness. The album is entirely about issues, politics, cities, buildings, and of course the famous Chicago Serial Killer: John Wayne Gacy, Jr. Songs to check out:
Jacksonville John Wayne Gacy, Jr. The Seers Tower Chicago Casimir Pulaski Day The Predatory Wasp of The Palisades is Out To Get Us! They Are Night Zombies!! They Are Neighbors!! They Have Come Back From The Dead!! Ahhhhh! Such a fantastic album. |
actually - now I'm digging Bitter Tea by the Fiery Furnaces. This is my second listen and I'm only on track three, but these first three songs have been excellent. If you were one of the many who were turned off by Rehearsing My Choir, this record is in the more familiar Furnaces' vein.

That day is actually today. /// I'm actually liking Bloc Party. Someone slaughter me now. |

You really need to check it out, man. It's like 18 tracks of filler and 4 good songs. |
