I honestly don't think so. Versions was too... I don't know. Progressive(that's probably a bad choice of words) for me.

LifeInABox 01-03-2008 06:45 PM

It wasn't progressive. It was just different. That's what made it appealing. TFTR was like a trash Opposite Of December.

illpressureurhinges1 01-03-2008 06:48 PM

Too different. Why change what works for you? Make it a little different so your not repetitive, but don't become something totally different.
im the kind of music listener that i need a LOT of variation on all sides of the music, and IN MY OPINION (please no one get butt hurt) i feel the vocals sound the same in every single song. I get bored with them quickly. again thats just my opinion. but i am giving them a chance i am listening to thier stuff and making my judgements based on that
i will say i like them a lot more now, then when i first heard them.
If you really can't get into them then don't try and force yourself to like them... wait, scratch that, LIKE CONVERGE DAMN YOU.

I want my Architects t-shirt already. :/

NemesisDivina 01-03-2008 06:53 PM

Poison the Well rules... I only have TOOD, but Nerdy is such a great song.

edit : Cocaine, it was Croatoan
that's a solid album. when i first got it, i wasn't really feeling it. then i put it back on a few months later and it punched me in the balls repeatedly.

Opposite Of December is ****ing mediocre at best. The only ****ing reason you like that album is because RetiredAt21 likes it, shut the **** up already.

Seriously, Poison The Well's vocals on their first album are so laughable, and the music is so damn generic and boring, I'm so tired of them getting **** just because their music actually started sounding good.

It took me a while to "get" it. It's a grower

Concubine 01-03-2008 08:20 PM

I had that album before I posted on the forums dumbass. TOOD is amazing. It completly kills TFTR in every way, not to mention, the vocals are exactly the same as TOOD, just with better production. Stop talking out of your ass.

Concubine 01-03-2008 08:23 PM

well, i got it from a local record store.

give me your myspace or something, i'll send you a link

beans 01-03-2008 08:24 PM

Do you know anything about singing or screaming whatsoever? The vocals are much throatier and less voice cracky on their later material, whereas they sounded like a terrible Hopesfall imitation on the earlier material. Not to mention, the clean singing on the first two albums just sounds terrible.

Tear from the Red seems pretty half-assed tbh.

Yeah, that probably their greatest influence, huh?

I really enjoy it, idk.

I don't know or care, that's completely irrelevant.
