i saw a criticism on here one time, it's like "the main character goes into the east to defeat some supernatural enemy it's exactly like lotr", even though the plot, characters, and even the concept of the enemy are completely different, like the whole west/east conflict is historic symbolism in most fantasy

also frodo doesn't defeat sauron in a duel

i need to learn all there is to know about fantasy books that have really cheesy green and orange covers with like people shooting lasers at wizards with swords that turn into dragons and other gay shit like that
