Andy Warhol was not an attractive man.

Eliminator 12-22-2007 12:44 PM

andy warhol also was not a talented man

Robert Crumb 12-22-2007 02:03 PM

Andy Warhol did some stuff and people said stuff about that stuff.

Anus Invader 12-22-2007 02:05 PM

I Mean Like It Was A Can Of Soup Lol I Coulda Done That!!!!!

AndreTheHyena 12-22-2007 02:10 PM

I really don't like Andy Warhol.

Is it time i got into Low?

Robert Crumb 12-22-2007 02:13 PM

I read an article about the guy who designed the Brillo Pad box that Andy Warhol appropriated. It was kinda interesting.

Low is great, I can upload Things We Lost in the Fire to the mailing list if you're on it.

I am, and would like that, if that's one of their albums that you would recommend.

Yeah it's a great album, I'll put it up there.

YDload 12-22-2007 02:52 PM

so that Panda Bear album that's been making all the "best of 07" lists is really REALLY boring and unremarkable. there have to have been dozens of albums sounding just like it that were released this year, why pick this one? because the guy's already famous?

okay 12-22-2007 03:04 PM

yeah, that was pretty dissapointing

Robert Crumb 12-22-2007 03:07 PM

but the cover art is so cool

Time 12-22-2007 03:20 PM

I've never seen anything too great or too terrible in Panda Bear's music, I do like Animal Collective though.

I'm just hearing Copia by Eluvium for the first time today. It's really beautiful. This most definitely would've been on my top 5 for '07 had I heard it earlier.

A Dead Modernist 12-22-2007 03:36 PM

Person Pitch is amazing imo it has some what of a hypnotic feel to it that just lures you in and each track is catchy as **** and not to mention the vocals are killer. Young Prayer on the other hand I found extremely boring except for a couple songs.

A Dead Modernist 12-22-2007 03:39 PM

So I just found out that I can't go to the No Age show or Six organs of Admittance because they're both 21+. This is hella gay.

the second quote explains the first quote very well

Robert Crumb 12-22-2007 03:44 PM

I saw a Six Organs of Admittance acoustic show at the local used book repository in town. It was, indeed, a very non-homosexual experience. One might even say quite fine!
the second quote explains the first quote very well
ok.

Robert Crumb 12-22-2007 03:55 PM

I liked the Panda Bear album a lot. It's one of the few albums I bought this year. I think I can understand the divisive response and I'm at least a little surprised that its received such universal critical acclaim. But no more surprised than I am with the acclaim of say, The Field album. I'd just wonder what are the dozens of albums released this year that sound like the Person Pitch, though.

Thanks 12-22-2007 03:56 PM

I never gave more than the first couple minutes or so of the first track of that Panda Bear album a chance, I don't think. It was that bad.

A Dead Modernist 12-22-2007 03:59 PM

But Pitchfork gave it a 9.4/10! It must be good!

YDload 12-22-2007 04:25 PM
I'd just wonder what are the dozens of albums released this year that sound like the Person Pitch, though.
i mean REAL indie albums, done by some dorks in their basements could easily recreate the basic "feel" of that album. i aint got specific names, its just an overall thing that anyone could do. the fact that it's not special in any way is what makes me so baffled by its critical success. and if it's so loved because of its catchiness, then why didnt the critics fill their year-end lists with pop albums?

sweboy 12-22-2007 04:47 PM

riddle me this if any1 could do it then why has no1 esle done it????????????

AndreTheHyena 12-22-2007 04:48 PM

Ask Andy Warhol.

Thanks 12-22-2007 04:54 PM

Wait, didn't Brian Wilson do it like 40 years ago?

I'm thinking about the same album, right?

Eliminator 12-22-2007 05:10 PM
i mean REAL indie albums, done by some dorks in their basements could easily recreate the basic "feel" of that album.
same goes for a lot of other albums

actually i could pretty much apply that to most of the other statements in your post
and if it's so loved because of its catchiness, then why didnt the critics fill their year-end lists with pop albums?
definitely not because they may like that album more than other 'catchy'/pop albums

but then again thats the only reason people like that album cuz its katchy

andy warhol is the only culturally relevant person or thing to ever come out of pittsburgh

pulseczar 12-22-2007 09:55 PM

I think Person Pitch is good for an occasional listen, but it grates me after a while. It just sounds like he's dicking around too much, most of it is forgettable in the end.

and was andy warhol an albino or just really gay

Montana 12-22-2007 10:26 PM

He was really, really gay and had horrible skin.
