1 Clutch 122
2 Cock Sparrer 79 3 Conflict 59 4 Coliseum 32 5 The Wildhearts 30 6 Elvis Costello 24 7 Sufjan Stevens 23 7 Cocteau Twins 23 9 Talking Heads 21 10 The Beatles 18 Big Fat Pig, by Clutch, came on with my playlist on random, and the lyrics caught my attention and got me properly listening to Jam Room for the first time, really. I need more Clutch. Conflict and Cock Sparrer always come together for me, for some reason, so that's them. Coliseum's still a new purchase, and the Cocteau Twins got plays just because of all the other Cs playing. The rest are incidental. At the moment I'm not listening to anything; trying to think of the name of an Annie Lennox song from the early 90s (I think), and failing, badly. |
Harmonia's Musik Von Harmonia is amazing. I described it to a guy who has already heard it as having "an alien rainforest vibe," and he agreed. This is the drummer from Neu! with the 2 guys from Cluster. Eno called them "the world's most important rock group." I love it!
|
Jam Room is my favorite Clutch album. Although my favorite tune of theirs will always be "Spacegrass." Fun band. I don't seem to listen to them much anymore, though.
Lotsa fun, lotsa friends, lotsa beer: 1 Pavement 34 1 Half Japanese 34 3 Gang Starr 30 4 Bob Dylan 17 4 Charles Mingus 17 4 Stevie Wonder 17 7 Television Personalities 14 8 Damond Moodie 13 8 Jeru the Damaja 13 8 GZA/Genius 13 The only one of those I haven't mentioned or isn't well known is Damond Moodie. His stuff kinda makes me think about Incubus with a stronger soul bent. Not particularly interesting, really. |
1 Mission of Burma 51
2 Hüsker Dü 34 3 Black Flag 33 4 Bad Brains 25 5 The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion 19 6 DJ Shadow 14 7 Fugazi 13 8 Fall Out Boy 12 8 Defiance, Ohio 12 10 Bob Dylan 11 Fall Out boy? wtf |
1 The Doors 31
2 The Dirtbombs 13 3 The Dillinger Escape Plan 12 4 The Cure 10 5 Elliott Smith 9 6 Queens of the Stone Age 8 6 Devendra Banhart 8 8 Chapterhouse 5 8 Radiohead 5 8 Jurassic 5 5 Sounds about right. |
No one is going to read my post about Harmonia, and they'll continue to get no love. But people will scroll through a lotta last.fms.

I read it. I've been wanting to buy some Cluster (from your mentions and also from knowing Eno worked with them) but I can't find any albums around here. That, and I've also been afraid they're stuff might be too sleepy from what I've read. I'll get to it soon either way. |
All I have is Cluster '71, and it's a really crazy album. Very swooshy and scratcy staticky. Really long, structrueless exploratory tracks. Not for everyone. I've only played it once, but quite enjoyed it.
I like this Harmonia stuff quiiiiite a bit better. I'm a pretty big Neu! fan, and this is much more in that vein. Maybe a bit more playful and spacey, though. Mm. |

Yeah. Eventually people will not even realize that mine are fake, although for the time being they seem to be recognized as such :):( 1 Porsche Borscht 79 2 Brilliant Idea, Mohammed! 70 3 Vacuum Fat 67 4 Let's All Stab Lenny With A Fork 64 5 Weenie Roast At The Funeral Pyre 55 6 Wops 30 7 The Band Formerly Known As The "@" Symbol 27 8 Diaper Viper 21 9 Fruit Bomb 11 10 A Mother's Day Card From Oedipus 7 So yeah, I did that. |
I think people have realized yours are fake for awhile now.
We're just to lazy to point out it isn't a funny joke. |
Oh pixies, you make me so sad -__-;;

If your avatar is the cover of the album, it looks just awesome enough to hunt down. |

10 A Mother's Day Card From Oedipus 7
Brilliant. My Bloody Valentine - You Made Me Realise Great EP. |

Yeah, that's the cover from Musik Von Harmonia, and yes, it's awesome. I also just listened to Deluxe, their second album, and it's perhaps even better. I'm really excited. |

Velvet Underground - Velvet Redux: Live MCMXCIII

Psychic TV - Tekno Acid Beat
J. Dilla - Donuts "Donuts" is soooooooo amazing. I think I heard it every night this week as I went to sleep. |
Liquid Liquid's self-titled retrospective. This stuff is so hard to describe. Rhythmic, post-punky, bassy, percussive, electronic, dub, experimental, dance.

Hey I'm not the first person to profess a love for that album! But I seem to be one of the few who likes it over Highly Refined Pirates (so far).

It sounds like a completely different band I think. |
Make Believe - Shock Of Being
The way all the guitar and drum parts intertwine is so cool. And no hi-hats anywhere to be found! |
