I like hockey live. Not really on TV.

I'm playing baseball now and I'm really sore after only 1 practice.

SGlove 05-01-2006 10:26 PM
Baseball blows.

Wrestling ftw.
Yeah.
Now, I'll back you.

Lacrosse > any sport

bottlerocket 05-02-2006 12:31 PM

Lacrosse is cool.

I still love watching my Red Sox, though.

Special Brew 05-02-2006 01:19 PM

I like playing most sports. I can't stand watching any of them though, except skating/bmx.
Hey everyone -

This is something we have been sitting on for a while, but now we can make it public. We are proud to say that we are now part of the Hope Division/Equal Vision Records roster. The label made the announcement this afternoon and we are excited to be able to announce it ourselves.

The official release date for our next full length, Risk Revival, is October 3. As we have said 23203847 times already, we are recording in June with Mike Hill, and we will master the record at the end of June.

A tour is planned for late September through early November, so get ready.

Thanks to our drummer Greg for putting up with the chore of releasing his own band's records for the last 5 years.

We are thrilled to be working with EVR as they have been so awesome to us already.

More soon,
Billy
bottlerocket 05-02-2006 01:45 PM

Why the =/? I'm sure they'll still be good.

Converge signed with EVR.

-Gav

SGlove 05-02-2006 05:30 PM

I'm lukewarm about the idea.
It's about time though that they got some recognition.
I'm sure it'll be a good thing.

bottlerocket 05-02-2006 05:32 PM

Scene kids may start to like them...

-Gav

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 05-02-2006 05:35 PM

Who cares if scene kids will like them. It doesn't change their sound or them as a band. I personally love Equal Vision and I'm excited for the new record.

Wow 05-02-2006 05:46 PM

Gavs mom is fat.

bottlerocket 05-02-2006 05:47 PM

It's true...she is.

Well, she's not fat but she sort of has a little flab.

Sunny: Usually, becoming popular chages bands' sound.

Example: Underoath.

k1ckthecat 05-02-2006 05:50 PM

i can't take much of hot cross anyway, but i'm sure with the change they'll get bigger and i'll grow to hate them.

deadohiosky9 05-02-2006 06:04 PM

I saw that email and cried. It's very disappointing to me that Hot Cross signed to EVR. Not because EVR is a bad label or anything, but they have some s'hitty bands. EVR is a pretty mainstream label too and I'd always valued Hot Cross as being an underground band, which really made them mean more, to me at least. Now I know I'll be seeing scene f'ucks wearing Hot Cross shirts cause they like Fall of Troy and like the similar riffs in newer Hot Cross songs. They will have no knowledge of "Cryonics" or "A New Set of Lungs" or even know the word "DIY" or "Emo". That what really sickens me. Hot Cross had plenty of popularity in this scene, they don't really need anymore "recognition". They are pretty damn popular, but releasing a record on EVR is releasing them to a whole new scene, one that I never saw Hot Cross in, and don't feel they belong in. I also think its kinda weird that Greg would sign to another label when he runs Level-Plane...but then again he signed Mikoto...so who knows. I'm just disappointed, I'm sure the new record will be great and I'm def gonna buy it and won't stop liking their music, but this just feels like a loss to me.

EDIT: I hear Greg will still be releasing the vinyl on Level Plane, and Hope Division is a sublabel of EVR, so I guess its not that bad then.

Kind of like when Agaisnt Me! signed to Sire, except when they released their new record it made me hate them because the new record was so god awful.

Brain Toad 05-02-2006 06:25 PM

I never pay much attention to record labels.

MY EPIC JOURNEY TO GET THE NEW TOOL ALBUM

So yes, as Gav stated, I ran. Dispite my bad foot and my lazyness and weight, I sprinted to Target, which is a good two miles or so away. I ran inside and as I just entered the store, a wigger who goes to my school stopped me and tried to start conversation. I told him to **** himself and kept journying forth. I got to the CD section and looked at the new releases and did not see the new Tool album. I frantically screamed "WHAT THE FUCK" as loud as I could. Someone who worked there came to assist me and asked what the problem was. The situation went something like this:

Guy: Uh, is everything okay?
Me: IS EVERYTHING OKAY?! WHERE THE FUCK IS THE NEW TOOL ALBUM?!
Guy: It's not here?
Me: IF IT WAS WOULD I BE ASKING YOU?!
Guy: Did you check the T's?
Me: I DONT HAVE THAT KIND OF TIME!
Guy: Well if you want I ca-
Me: SHUT THE FUCK UP!

I ran and grabbed the album and held it in my hands as the worked just stared at me. He came over and said "If you do not calm down I'll have to call security." I sprinted to the cash registers. There were two open. Each had 10+ people. I waited for one group. Another. Then a family got to the front and unloaded more food than a Texas McDonalds has ever sold. That was it.

Me: MOOOOOOOOOOVE
Everyone: /stares
Father: Ummm.... Well... you can go ahead of us.

I get to the front and the lady rings up my cd. I throw a $20 in her face and run out of the store and sprinted home. Here I am.

Well, after all the raving you do about how chill it is, I figured, why not?

bottlerocket 05-02-2006 07:17 PM

I didn't rave about how chill it is. I said it's cool if you know what you're talking about. If not, you leave with a fresh, bleeding asshole.

Maybe that was pop-punk?

Meh.

deadohiosky9 05-02-2006 07:45 PM

ROFL the new tool album is amazing.

Thonk 05-02-2006 07:48 PM

After a week, I still haven't listened to it in it's entirety.
