I just downloaded...watching now...

EDIT: that sucked

Shattered_Future 04-15-2006 05:19 PM

That it did. There were some hot chicks in there though...

Stoo 04-15-2006 05:28 PM

Anyone know Opeth are going to Download? UGH!!

JamJar 04-15-2006 05:30 PM

^Yeah, I only found out yesterday and I really want to go as Tool, Opeth, Dredg and DragonForce are playing, but I don't have any money to buy tix. (They've probably sold out anyway)

Stoo 04-15-2006 05:32 PM

Yea I was checking the dates for someone and I just saw.

Mang, wish I had friends who like Metal!! Then I'd go. :upset:

I'm seeing Tool in June anyway, but still. Tallica etc.

Kaiwaz 04-15-2006 05:50 PM
Favorite Opeth solo.. Both the Windowpane solos.. Been listening to that song alot lately, and I realised that Windowpane is all about the solos.. The rest is just.. Sort of "filler".. I mean, the vocals are sort of boring in that song... And it wouldn't be as amazing a song as it is, if it wasn't for the beautiful expressive solos
The solo's on Windopane are really good. I really like the solo's on Ending Credits also. It's such an amazing song.

Crysiss 04-15-2006 05:52 PM

Ending Credits is the song most people around here first started liking. Thanks to the whoring of one specific person:D

The chord progressions are cool too.

Tool AND Opeth? Dredg too! When do we find out if it's the same day? Because if they are then I'm definately going.

Kaiwaz 04-15-2006 05:59 PM

Ending Credits and Weakness were the songs that I liked the most when I first heard Damnation, I liked Hope Leaves, I just found the former to be more apealing to me on my first listen. They still don't compare to Epilogue. That has to be my favorite Opeth song at this moment.

N.P. Epilogue ~ Opeth
The chord progressions are cool too.
Ah, the ever creative i-iv-V... at least Mike threw some color notes in the chords to make it decent. The lead is really what makes that song though.

Shattered_Future 04-15-2006 06:25 PM

Weakness I don't like that much...it's too...weird, even by Opeth standards.

Ending Credits rocks though...

Man, I just can't get over that sung part in Godhead's Lament. I was listening to it again today, and it never ceases to amaze me...

I know mang. :upset:

On Topic...

I was listening to My Arms, You're Hearse in my bed last night.

Man, I knew it was gooood.

But afterwards I think it's definately in my top 3 Opeth observations. :p

I havn't listened to Still Life is a week or 2 now...I must later tonight. But I too love that part. The firts part that really stood out in that song for me I would say...

Elmo McCheese 04-15-2006 07:05 PM

The sung part in Godhead's Lament somehow reminds me of a Christmas song, it's so good.

I heard talk of the album with Steve Wilson, Akerfeldt, and Portnoy?

I just had an orgasm. :)

I haven't listened to it all yet, but the part where Mikael says he wants to open on a tour with Tool damn near stopped my heart; I stopped breathing for a moment.

Once you listen to them you will go into cardiac arrest. :thumb:

Jesus Christ...

Tool AND Opeth, ON THE SAME TOUR?

Ok, I can't accept anything as shocking anymore...

That interview gave me an erection.

There's no way in hell I'd miss Tool and Opeth. I don't care how far I have to go.

That would be my three favorite bands, in order, Tool being number 1.

Grey Incision 04-15-2006 10:49 PM

I put an interview in this thread a very long time ago in wich mike expressed interest in touring with Tool and Metallica. In particular, Mike said that the band were big Tool fans and that a tour with Tool would be great for the audiences of both bands to experience something new. So it isn't a new ambition of his to tour with them, just depends on if it progresses past the talk stage.

I think it could be possible especially seeing how Opeth is rapidly gaining fame.

Drone 04-16-2006 07:02 AM

It seems like they may do Gigantour for now, though. I love Megadeth, so that excites me, but Tool and Opeth...well, I think that speaks for itself! :D

Thor 04-16-2006 09:34 AM

I thought it was pretty funny when Mikael just started bashing Ozzfest. It's great to know that the bands hate it as much as real metal fans do.

He said he was offered it and was considering it. I don't think he will though, they've been touring so long.

eighty d 04-16-2006 04:36 PM

Opeth on Gigantour would kick ass. Opeth with Tool... that I'd be torn. Opeth is amazing, Tool I could do without.

Tool just doesn't move me as much as other bands. I enjoy them, but I'm not constantly going  like I do with some bands.

Convert me. Give me a song or two to download that'll blow me away.

Keeping in mind that I have Lateralus, and nothing on it really grabbed me.

Darkness 04-16-2006 04:47 PM

The whole Ænima album should do the trick. Songs like.. Eulogy, H., 46&2, Pu****, and Third Eye. Epic songs.

Parabol/a is one of the most amazing pieces of music ever written. How that song couldn't grab someone who listens to it a few times is beyond me.

I'd recommend Prison Sex, or something like 46 & 2 or Stinkfist from Ænima for instant grabbage.

Listen to Sober, Third Eye, Ticks & Leaches, Aenima. Those should do the trick.

Stop bursting my bubble! :p

I wouldn't blame Mike and the guys, though, I would imagine that touring is extremely tiring and difficult.

I would recommend Eulogy and H. from Aenima. Floods is also a personal favorite of mine. :thumb:

I'm actually going to see both Opeth and Tool on the same day on Metaltown festival in Gothenburg \m/
