Actually at times both enter the murky waters of stonerey type stuff. Iron Hearse sound like The Obsessed, Cambian Dawn have elements of Vitus.
Unfortunately I'm not elite enough to have heard The Obsessed or Vitus, I guess I'll put all 4 of them down on my 'to get' list
What's your favorite While Heaven Wept album, Jondur?
Of Empires Forlorn. Although to honest WHW do what they say on the tin - all the albums are mournful epic doom, lots of keyboards, great vocals etc. I think you'd be happy with with Empires, Sorrow of the Angels or chapter 1.

Refl 09-17-2008 04:47 AM

Seeing pelican again tonight which means possible new material. Fingers crossed for doom.

rasputin 09-17-2008 05:31 AM

Easily, like this:

Cambian Dawn and Iron Hearse.

check em out and let me know what you think.
Iron Hearse is ace. I've not heard Cambian Dawn.

Haha, I have almost all their albums, I was just wondering which your favorite was because you seem to be the only one here who shares my love of them. It bothers me when people call them “not doom enough” when they never really had the attention to be painted with the brush, and I quite honestly think they’d sound artificial with anything in their sound tweaked.

pate 09-17-2008 11:41 AM

I like them a lot.

Nostalgia 09-17-2008 11:56 AM

Really? I guess you’ve just never confessed your love. I think my favorite song is “Sorrow of the Angels” (although I like it on Lovesongs of the Forsaken as opposed to Empires Forlorn) or “The Drowning Years”.

Txus 09-17-2008 12:03 PM

I only have 1 album, i need to get more tbh. They are good.

The Drowning Years is my favorite.

jrowa001 09-17-2008 05:33 PM

i checked out Trouble's Psalm 9 and it was pretty good. ill have to listen to it few more times to really appreciate it

gmoneyguy 09-17-2008 05:41 PM

Check out Simple Mind Condition also.

jrowa001 09-17-2008 05:43 PM

thats their new one right? is there a big difference in sound or style?

Angmar 09-17-2008 05:56 PM

Simple Mind Condition is much more of a stoner album.

gmoneyguy 09-17-2008 06:00 PM

idk if I would quite call it stoner
thats their new one right? is there a big difference in sound or style?
yeah buts its still really good

pate 09-17-2008 06:03 PM

It's less traditional doom, put it that way.
I love Trouble but they frustrate me so much it keeps me from listening to them.

jrowa001 09-17-2008 06:03 PM

cool, ill look for it along with more of their stuff

gmoneyguy 09-17-2008 06:05 PM

how do they frustrate you?

Txus 09-17-2008 06:07 PM

The self titled is so underrated :(

Angmar 09-17-2008 06:08 PM

Because they love Jesus?

Txus 09-17-2008 06:17 PM

We all love jesus.

gmoneyguy 09-17-2008 06:27 PM

speak for yourself frijoles.

pate 09-17-2008 06:46 PM
how do they frustrate you?
Lack of consistency.

gmoneyguy 09-17-2008 06:56 PM
Lack of consistency.
I can see that

ATM 09-17-2008 07:20 PM

Trouble are playing tomorrow night but I have class :(

pate 09-17-2008 07:29 PM

I don't want to see them with Kory Clarke. I passed up like 5 shows with Eric. I guess I missed my chance.
