Even with online buying power, some albums are very difficult to get ahold of.

CaptainWaits 12-20-2004 11:00 PM

I just order them in at A and B.........it's not that big of a metal franchise.....but I can they'll pretty much order anything I'd want.........It'll just take a while

gmoneyguy 12-21-2004 12:57 AM

Hey Riva, ready for a game of WC3?

Riva 12-21-2004 12:57 AM

Well, I just picked up 4 albums today.

I recently came upon a windfall of money, to a somewhat significant amount.

So I have decided to pay off the bulk of my car loan, and treat myself to a few luxuries. The first part of these was 4 CDs I have been eyeing off in HMV, which I wouldn't have bought for a long, long time, considering my current budget.

I got: Lennon - Legend, Stratovarius - Destiny [Japan Import], The Mars Volta - De-loused in the Comatorium, and The Who - Tommy. And I must say, I love all of them, from what I have heard as I ripped 'em to my computer.

magicbus 12-21-2004 12:58 AM

What's new in the R&M community?

Riva 12-21-2004 12:58 AM

Sure thing, just let me finish up with these CDs o' mine. :)

you....In the thread atleast

Mekkalayakay 12-21-2004 01:03 AM

So I just downloaded Arcturus - La Masquerade Finale

Was it the Arcturus album I wanted most? No, but it should still kick ass.

Do I feel bad for downloading it? Yes, but it's not like I could purchase it, nor am I able to buy albums via internet.

Am I feeling good about having it, pirated or not? Yes. Though I would still rather have a purchased album.

Mekkalayakay 12-21-2004 02:43 AM

And R&M is sleeping.

Riva 12-21-2004 03:33 AM

Nice. Good on you, Med. And good on you, Mek, for regretting not being able to purchase your album.

So... how is everyone this glorious evening? Do you think I made a good purchase, albumwise?

Bartender 12-21-2004 04:46 AM

Maybe. How is Destiny? I've only got one Stratovarius album (Infinite), and I don't like it much.

Riva 12-21-2004 05:11 AM

I quite liked it. The title track is a great song, about 10 mins in length. Sort of less Power metalish, if you know what I mean.

NP:Red hot chili peppers - Mellowship Slinky in B-major

Bartender 12-21-2004 10:11 AM

100 posts in a day isn't all that unusual for this thread.

I just watched a really old film on BBC2, with Fred Astaire. I really enjoyed it, actually.

DonMancini 12-21-2004 10:18 AM

Anybody read Devil on the Cross by Ngugi Wa Thiong'o and God's Bits of Wood by Sembene Ousmane?

I have to do a comparative essay for english :upset: it's annoying.

LordDargon 12-21-2004 10:20 AM

I'd just make fun of the authors' names and submit it

munky_magik 12-21-2004 10:21 AM

heh...English. I haven't been in ages.
My teacher even thought that I had dropped it because of my attendance :upset:

Thank goodness I'm done with school for a month. Man I haven't been here in a long time...I've been working on my bloody end-of-year papers. 32 pages for Biodiversity and 36 pages for History of Espionage, not including about 4-6 pages of endnotes. Anyway, how's everyone doing?

Funny comment over the day :thumb:
That's my new idea, everyday I'm going to give funny comment of the day rep
You have a spy class??????????
:D Yeah, my class kicked ***. We read about the coolest stuff, like the plot to kill Adolf Hitler, and other cool books like "Inside The CIA," "Man Without a Face," that Robert Harris novel "Enigma,"....really neat stuff.

Didn't make the paper any more fun to write, though. I did the failure of the Nazi atomic bomb project, but it turns out they failed because of the scientists making mistakes rather than sabotage or British or Americans dropping behind enemy lines and blowing up stuff. That DID happen, but it wasn't the primary reason...so instead of talking about cool stuff like espionage, I had my head up a physics textbook's *** for the entire paper, which sucked.

BTW: That Inside the CIA book makes me look at the movie "The Recruit" in a new light....and I mean that in a semi-good way. It's still really really wimpier than it should have been, but there's a lot in it that's true, surprisingly.

gmoneyguy 12-21-2004 11:25 AM

I am teh uber jealous now.

^Dream~Theater^ 12-21-2004 11:28 AM

Man school sucks..almost lunchtime though

Cain 12-21-2004 11:30 AM

Don't be jealous, guitrguy. That's the upside to going to the self-proclaimed most liberal college in the country. The downside is all the self-righteous, politically-correct liberals running around. I mean, I'm a liberal, but much more moderate than some of these people. They're like überliberals. And none of them have any idea how to have a discussion...they just spit their opinion out over and over again.

There is a reason why I stop posting in the politics forum. Is it Cornell?

Cain 12-21-2004 11:32 AM

Oh, and I've been wondering this for a long time...what the hell does "ROFL" stand for?
