Middle school I didn't listen to music unless I was in the car and it was on the radio. I started going to local metalcore shows in the summer before 9th grade, then one of my older friends gave me Unearth-Stings of Conscience and I thought "**** yes!" then I continued to explore from there and eventually found myself checking out Cephalic Carnage, Misery Index and Dying Fetus in late 05 because Unearth didn't really floor me anymore and I was looking for stuff that was heavier.

Some years later, I was sitting here typing this up on a forum and was pretty well-versed but not quite an expert on extreme metal.

I think they're good, but nothing special.

I've never seen anyone ranting about them on the review site. Last.fm and Metal-Archives never count.

And I mean you have a Lykathea Aflame avatar so let's not get into who is and who isnt overrated.

I do think Lykathea Aflame is overrated too, but still great and thoroughly enjoyable.

I forgot who it was who was saying how fantastic Odious Mortem was, it was ballstothewall or one of the other metal militia guys.
