well its been released on the early days
It's not the full concert, it's a double CD in the archives. There are only about 7 or 8 songs on the Early Days.

Josh 07-03-2005 10:31 AM
So they're only playing stuff from their first four albums at Reading. Slightly annoying, because I won't hear Paschendale, No More Lies, Blood Brother or The Wicker Man (or anything from the Blaze period.)

On the plus side, Sanctuary, Iron Maiden, Run To The Hills, Children of The ****ed, Hallowed Be Thy Name and Number Of The Beast will almost certainly feature, along with other cool stuff like Phantom Of The Opera and The Prisoner.
children of the damned and the prisoner aren't on the setlist. and they dropped charlotte the harlot and replaced it with Wrathchild :upset:

if you go on this site there's setlists posted, go in Maiden talk and then the Early days tour forum.

it drags on to much, if they chopped the interlude in half it would be more enjoyable...im really looking forward to hearing Drifter live though :)

crag 07-03-2005 02:19 PM

the firing bullet noises annoy me in where eagles dare. i hope they take them out when they play live.

FrailandBedazzled1979 07-03-2005 02:24 PM

Im excited for when they tour for the second half of their Iron Maiden Years, being Powerslave to....im guessing they'd either cut if off after Adrian left or after Bruce left.

i'm guessing it's gonna be Powerslave ---> 7th Son, there was a rumour about it a few weeks ago on the IM BB.

nice, i figured that would be that one. After Adrian left it was a "dark age" for the band that ended in 99' when Bruce and H returned, thank Eddie for that!!!! Ill love the second installment of this series, Somewhere in Time is my absoulte favourite by a landslide.

i dont think so
this was up to piece of mind right?
so then the next would only be powerslave & seventh son
doesnt seem right to me
at this time they were a big band so there's probably more of their recordings that there was @ early days
i'm thinking the next dvd might be up until fear of the dark
i mean bruce's leaving the band had bigger impact that adrian's so i think thats what is gonna be the next phase

Leeds will be my second maiden gig

I always feel sorry for blaze, he is a magnificent vocalist but people dislike him for little or no reason, X-factor is certainly my second favourite maiden album after piece of mind

AB/CD 07-04-2005 08:04 AM

virtual XI is my fave maiden album. its really jsut all the bruce fanboys who hate blaze cos they all think maiden is about run to the hills and number of the beast

most of them probably don't even know who blaze is

AB/CD 07-04-2005 09:24 AM

Blaze is by far the best singer they had Bruce is good for igh notes and ****e but Blaze just has the beter stage presence I think

it'll be good if they include a complete world slavery show on the DVD. i might actually get the Early Days this summer as well.

MaidenMadness 07-04-2005 12:14 PM
virtual XI is my fave maiden album. its really jsut all the bruce fanboys who hate blaze cos they all think maiden is about run to the hills and number of the beast
blaze has a great voice however his time with maiden was set to be doomed before it even started
as good as he is he's no bruce
he did ****ty job singing most of bruce era songs
his era did create some of my fave songs like lord of the flies & the clansman, sign of the cross...
however at those stage albums had way too many fillers. i dont think it was his fault
fear of the dark had many fillers in it
virtual xi & the x factor had fillers in them
and to be honest dod and bnw have fillers on them but thats not the point
now we know who writes most of iron maiden's stuff - steve harris
so you cant just punish steve for his lack of inspiration which lead to these fillers. if you kick steve out - no more maiden
its always easier to blame the new guy
when you add the fact that he slaughtered bruce era songs there you have it imo the reason why blaze had to go
bruce maybe brought in some fresh dose of isnpiration but things practically remained the same
only now they can tour and get money out of that and not focus so much on writting new stuff
steve lacks inspiration and he was never too fond of bruce's writting

Lord Abortion 07-04-2005 04:37 PM

X-factor has no filler tracks, name one IYO

AB/CD 07-04-2005 04:49 PM

virtual XI didnt have any really Paul Dianno>every maiden song Bruce Dickinson>only his songs Blaze>his and Diannos

Bruce isnt that great he cant do the songs that dianno and Blaze did

Lord Abortion 07-04-2005 04:52 PM

I like bruce the best but also love the stuff blaze does now and did in maiden, he is fantastic, if you think he sucks live, try "as live as it gets" and be proved massively wrong

AB/CD 07-04-2005 04:54 PM

only clip ive seen of Blaze is the 1 when hes been spat on and i think the main reason he ruined trooper completely is becos he was pissed off and wasnt concentrating properly btu he also can get the very high notes anyway

Lord Abortion 07-04-2005 05:00 PM

that's a VERY bad example of blaze live, a poor representation of his live excellence

AB/CD 07-04-2005 05:01 PM

yeah i no thats what I was pointing out I would love to see him live becos I loved his two albums with maiden compared to half of Bruces
