TTEOTD isn't deathcore though, regardless.

As for the vocals on the Doom EP, lot's of variation between highs/lows/mids/brees, it's not monotonous at all. And the music's just simplistic, that doesn't mean it's flat.

LifeInABox 01-13-2008 07:20 PM
That's because they're not hyped up by the sites you draw your opinion from.

No, Bring Me The Horizon is melodic death, just like TTEOTD is.

And all of the guitarwork, albeit it's simple, but it's well written. Not to mention all of the vocals on the album. Oh and the drumming's great, even if the footwork's a bit slow.

That's because it's a clip!
Yeah, man. Those sites, ya know, all they ever rep is the finest deathcore

oh wait, that's an oxymoron.

i am the robots 01-13-2008 07:21 PM

No, you're just a 15 year old who needs to shut up and listen to what people who have been into the music for more than 6 months have to say.

NOTICE: just because death metal fans who don't know what hardcore is dislike something, doesn't mean it's bad.

masscows 01-13-2008 07:22 PM
TTEOTD isn't deathcore though, regardless.
And is actually good/doesn't recycle other bands' material/uses breakdowns tastefully and to good effect/HAD killer vocals.
NOTICE: just because death metal fans who don't know what hardcore is dislike something, doesn't mean it's bad.
I know what hardcore is. I listen to alot of metalcore that most metalheads would dismiss as trash before even hearing it because of the tag. I just feel like most of the death metal associated with the various -core scenes are ripoffs of ripoffs of ripoffs and gay up their music/lyrics to appeal to -core kids.

i am the robots 01-13-2008 07:23 PM

Agreed.
TTEOTD isn't deathcore though, regardless.
Doesn't "deathcore" just mean death metal fused with hardcore?

I hear that in them.

Bleh

masscows 01-13-2008 07:27 PM

The only hardcore influence I hear (actually, it's metalcore influence but whatever) in TTEOTD is in some of their breakdowns where the same line is repeated so the crowd can sing along. That's pretty much it.

i am the robots 01-13-2008 07:27 PM

I don't hear any more hardcore in TTEOTD than any other death metal band.

Dude, you're so fucking stupid. I name bands of your favorite genre I like and you say my taste sucks because I don't like a band you do. Then when I proceed to defend why I don't like the band you cum all over the keyboard and say some stupid shit about how dumb I am. You easily have some of the worst things to say in places you don't belong, so take your discussion where people care and get the fuck out of here.

No no no no, I'm just saying you like breakthrough bullshit too much and need to stop acting like you're an expert, because you are 15 and you did just ****ing get into the music. Shut up already, your opinion is recycled and stupid, everybody's heard what you have to say and nobody ****ing cares.

1338 h4x0r 01-13-2008 07:39 PM

I first seriously listened to metal when I was a sophomore in high school.

I suck.

Again, I don't like Animosity, I do like All Shall Perish and Glass Casket. Clearly everyone here likes Animosity, I just don't especially like them. That's real recycled.

me too, lol.

Well....Nightwish since freshman year.....and now being a Junior I've expanded my tastes.

It's really just me/mappy/some other dudes in the metalcore thread who like them.

i am the robots 01-13-2008 07:46 PM

Word.

NEWSFLASH: All Shall Perish isn't deathcore.

That's one of many reasons why I think your opinion on the genre is retarded.

For somebody who posts so much in the metalcore thread, I'd think you'd have an idea of what hardcore sounds like, but idk, I guess you're mentally deficient.

Opeth here. I then went through an "OMG I <3 DM" phase and I still <3 DM, but then it was "OMG (plural) I <3 folk metal" and now I feel more "OMG (plural) I <3 BM" Was that Sophomore or Junior year actually when I started? I don't remember now.

LifeInABox 01-13-2008 07:47 PM

On a side note, I started listening to metalcore in 7th grade, so the argument is old.

i am the robots 01-13-2008 07:48 PM
dongs
I showed you Opeth in the library in like 10th grade, so I guess that'd be your Junior year.
On a side note, I started listening to metalcore in 7th grade, so the argument is old.
And yet you still can't see the difference between a mix of DM and metalcore and just DM with pseudo-technical riffing and breakdowns, bravo.

It was Colonel Polack in the Library with the Opeth. Got it. :chug:

i am the robots 01-13-2008 07:52 PM

Hahaha, yes, oh I miss the days when we could do **** on the comps without Ms. H noticing.

She was pretty cool tbqh. Smith was a fag. Cotugboat was a fag.

I'm so happy I didn't get expelled from high school. I destroyed most of my classes.

i am the robots 01-13-2008 07:57 PM

Cotugno is actually a very nice woman, she's just an idiot.

Smith looked like a lion and a pear had a retarded child.

Nostalgia 01-13-2008 07:58 PM

Animosity is barely "deathcore". They have the slightest hardcore influence to their music. All Shall Perish are melodic death metal with breakdowns. Their accepted subgenre is "deathcore".

i am the robots 01-13-2008 07:58 PM

That just shows how little you've listened to Animosity.

Also, deathcore = death metal + hardcore, not death metal + breakdowns, dumbass.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=QPdQeOfK--c

BARELY ANY HARDCORE IN THEY SOUND, THEY AINT GOT ENUFF BREAKDOWNZ

Listen to Animal again then, so many tuffguy parts.
Cotugno is actually a very nice woman, she's just an idiot.
Nah, she was a hardcore dick in both classes I took with her.

LifeInABox 01-13-2008 08:01 PM

breakdowns = most current metalcore.

I'm speaking of Animal, since that's what stemmed this entire dispute.

i am the robots 01-13-2008 08:01 PM

That's because you did too much stuff outside of how she wanted you to do it, and her being an idiot, she got offended.

She helped me so much with grading though, and my whole issue was that I just didn't want to go to school.

masscows 01-13-2008 08:01 PM

lol suffocation

Tyler 01-13-2008 08:01 PM

shut the **** up (not you masscows)

Anglachel 01-13-2008 08:02 PM

I first listened to metal the summer before 9th grade (freshman)

Also: äöüµ€ß

Yeah bitches I'm in Frankfurt.

FatalEnergy 01-13-2008 08:02 PM

I grew up with metal.

I win.

LifeInABox 01-13-2008 08:05 PM

But technically, I win. I started listening to metal in the January of 7th grade. Well, really, no Anglachel, you do win, because the single releveant thing Mappy said was that I am 15.

I thought this pissing match was about the ability to tell genres apart, not how long someone has listened to metal.

I grew up on punk and hardcore, I actually win.

masscows 01-13-2008 08:09 PM

and Korn

i am the robots 01-13-2008 08:11 PM

That was a phase from 6th grade to 9th grade. :(

The entire time I was listening to Megadeth, The Misfits, Minor Threat, The Bad Brains, Wu-Tang, The Beastie Boys (hardcore demos), Black Flag, The Circle Jerks, etc. as well.

Poet 01-13-2008 08:14 PM

I grew up listening to Eiffel 65, Blues Traveler, and Hootie and the Blowfish :(
