Meh, I really only liked their older stuff. I've gotten sick of all these variations of their music in new bands coming out.
A&A are boring to me. Plus 44 aren't that great. The only thing that caught my eye about Blink 182 is that at that time it didn't seem like they gave a crap about the scenes of music, etc. Their video clips were hilarious and inspiritional. And if this doesn't make sense to you, It doesn't to me either. :smoke: |
I think I know what you mean. Before S/T they didn't really give a fuck about anything.
|
How can people say which band is better?
+44 has one song. |
yeah, it's pretty stupid. But it's what the majority of posters in this thread are doing for some reason.
|
AVA make go to sleep, so easily. I havent heard any Plus 44 though.
|
I dunno what AVA does to me, but I know I like it, haha.
At least 3 - 4 times a week, I like on my bed with the album on and just close my eyes and listen. I swear, it's like meditation, it feels like the albums finishes in about 5 minutes, and I don't even remeber hearing the songs by the end of it, but I don't fall asleep. It's good, haha. |
yeah it's quite strange, the atmosphere it gives is great, which is why I like it so much
|
I dont really understand why everyone is so down on AVA. I think its a pretty good album....a bit pretentious, but still a decent CD.
However, judging from "No It Isn't"...and the fact I like Mark better than Tom....I have a feeling I'll like Plus 44 better. |
I have a feeling it'll be more similiar to Blink than AVA, like still in the Punk Rock roots.

Haha, touché.
Well, AVA works for me. |

MTV got the scoop on the upcoming release from Plus 44, the post-Blink 182 band featuring Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker. The duo let loose a potential name for the upcoming album, Little Death, as well as clearing up some confusion surrounding the bands sound and focus: "We didnt want to talk about the record until it was nearly finished. We had an idea about what it was going to be, and it changed, but now we can finally talk about i. But because of our silence, all these people online started to make up their own sh--. They made their own songs and posted them saying theyre our songs. The stuff thats out there now isnt really Plus-44." Hoppus goes on to explain that the original vocalist tapped, Carol Heller, has left. The current lineup also includes Craig Fairbaugh (the Forgotten, Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards) and Shane Gallagher. He goes on to explain that the album will feature a bit of guest "tinkering" by Dan the Automator. They describe the sound as "guitars mixed with keyboards, and electronic drums mixed with live drums" and that "its based on guitars and rhythms." The duo offered a little insight into the demise of Blink and the emergence of two vastly different projects: "I have to say youre definitely seeing what the real Tom was like, and thats the only comment Ill make about him or his band." |
Judging from that quote at the end, no one should be expecting a miraculous Blink 182 reunion anytime soon.
Its too bad Carol left. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for bands with female backing vocals. Oh well, seems like the overall sound isnt going to change much from what was originally planned. |
at the end of valkrustyu missle, toms goes something like
who do you think we are, we're angels and airwaves what a faggot |
Little Death sounds like it would be about the Blink breakup/ de-friending Tom. Like what he might've gone through after it happened. Or i'm completely wrong.

I read that interview a while ago, was it already posted?
Due to the fact that Tom is a fucking fag, (+44) > AvA. |

Still doesn't make them a better band. For instance, I believe that Plain White T's - Hey There Delilah is an amazing song, possibly better than anything off Brand New - Deja Entendu. That doesn't make the band better, seeing as I don't really like the rest of Plain White T's stuff that much, and Deja Entendu is one of my favourite albums as a whole. |
Deja Entendu is full of goodness. Unfortunatley, the same can't be said for We Dont Need To Whisper.
|
Yeah, you can't tell how good a band is by one song.
|
But it can give you a nice glimspse of what could be.

lol @ you give |
Lol @ my stupidity.
That one song is better then any song on AVA's Album?
No it isn't. It's average as fuck. Music is average, drums are average and Mark could've written much better lyrics. From a songwriters perspective most Angels and Airwaves songs are better than No it isnt.
|
From a song writers point of view, the AVA album isnt terrible, but it's definatley not brilliant. But it's probably stronger than the music. Hard to say really.

I think The Adventure is better than No It Isn't. That's just me though. |

Almost every AvA song is below average. With the exceptions of The Adventure and Start The Machine. |

Same here, The Adventure pwns it is so many ways. It's one of my favourite songs ever. |

You guys probably don't care, but my sister gave me this paper which has the S/T logo on it with Mark and Tom's autographs on it a few days back. Go me. :) |
