hellz yeah. this shyt is so tight!

:p

its not really mine yet, but when i get my license (which isnt far away) i will get it. BTW you have a really really nice car.

coddingtown 09-24-2004 07:18 PM

I drive a jetta. Not too bad not too good.

Anyway, I just discovered a new technique, I think. If you want to get a fretless slide sound on a fretted bass, put your fretting hand finger underneath the string on the neck, so the string is resting on your fingernail. Its a muted slide sound, at least on my bass. It hurts like hell though, and I dont reccomend it to anyone...

at all...

ScorpSath 09-24-2004 07:18 PM

I'm recording such a coolage song at the moment, bass lead bass and harmonica with some drums its going to be killer.

coddingtown 09-24-2004 07:22 PM

Sounds cool. Are you pretty good at harmonica?

ScorpSath 09-24-2004 07:47 PM

I like to consider myself good, my harmonica is worth more than my bass!

FUNKNBASS 09-24-2004 07:49 PM

Thats some Harmonica. What is it. And what bass do you have.

Crapdragoon 09-24-2004 07:51 PM

haha thanks jazzfunk

and yeah that seems like it would hurt coddin im to lazy to try it ;p

ScorpSath 09-24-2004 07:52 PM

I have a fender jazz knockoff, but when I sell that i'm getting a sixer. I have a hofner custom made
Illl make a recording tonight if you all wish of just some harmonica and drums or you can wait till my songs done.

FUNKNBASS 09-24-2004 07:53 PM

I can wait.

ScorpSath 09-24-2004 07:56 PM

I will make two, but only because I love you :p

FUNKNBASS 09-24-2004 08:05 PM

That Rimes. I love you too.

Radiobass81 09-24-2004 08:08 PM

FoxFire: The Grunge movement isn't overrated; it was all over the news. Hell, grunge suddenly appeared in Vogue magazines and such. Maybe bands (Nirvana possibly) of the movement are overrated, but if a movement is underrated, then it wouldn't really be a big movement, would it :p?

And, FunknBass, you do have a good point on the Neil Young thing, but typical Nirvana fans are morons. This is coming from one of them.

coddingtown 09-24-2004 08:13 PM

I just started harmonica, and I suck bigtime. I want to get good though, so I can play one in southern utah around a campfire.... ahh yeah...

ScorpSath 09-24-2004 08:15 PM
That Rimes. I love you too.
JamminOnMy4String 09-24-2004 08:24 PM

I need to get myself back in these discussions... i've been studying and partying way too much.. but what can you do..

*does a keg stand*

coddingtown 09-24-2004 08:26 PM
Not to be a Jacka$$ but I've seriously never heard a 7 string used in a way that was used to its full potential. By that I mean it didn't sound any better than a 6 stringer. And even then, that high c is just too much for me. Gimme a 7 string that tuned C# F# B E A D G.
Ive heard an f# string, and its barely audible. c# string would be like as thick as a pencil to be able to maintain string tightness and the bass would have to be like a 38" scale, not to mention no note on it before like the 5th fret would even be audible

jazzfunkboy 09-24-2004 08:28 PM

yeah, past low A is pushing it for me. my amp would explode from the lowness anyways. that being said, i dont even have a 5ver.

FUNKNBASS 09-24-2004 08:31 PM

F# is as low as I want to go, and I need a 36" scale to truly sustain it properly. Good thing my amps can handle it.

ScorpSath 09-24-2004 08:34 PM

I'm off to have a shower my songs will be up tomorrow.

Radiobass81 09-24-2004 08:34 PM

Drop D is as low as I want (or need) to go...

JoeDaddio 09-24-2004 10:26 PM

On a 4 string, I don't like detuning at all. I like a low B on a 5, but I'd only buy something like a Dingwall for a 5er because of the scale length of the B. I cannot stand floppy strings.
