No, you shut up Mr.-I-know-trigonometry.
Well...yeah I do know that.

Invicta_Veritas 07-08-2007 11:27 PM

Job for a Cowboy really isn't all that great.

I just got Genesis in the mail and listened to it today. I mean, it's good stuff, but kinda boring...

C.O.A. 07-08-2007 11:36 PM

anybody heard of anata?

i've been diggin them lately.

pate 07-08-2007 11:41 PM

Anata is pretty good. The Conductor's Departure and Under A Stone With No Inscription are good albums.

Bazarov 07-08-2007 11:43 PM

Nope. I'll check them out tomorrow if I remember.

Anyways, I noticed I had Deicide's Stench of Redemption. Damn, some of those solos really annoyed me, I can't recall which song, but it was totally power metal style and I was expecting Glen to burst out some high falsetto screams.

Tyler 07-08-2007 11:45 PM

falsetto for satan.

Invicta_Veritas 07-08-2007 11:45 PM

Which songs? I do nothing but adore that album, and the solos are sooo much better without the Hoffmans playing them.

Bazarov 07-08-2007 11:47 PM

I think it was Homage For Satan.

I'm not fond of this album, it's mainly the vocals that are annoying me. It's probably just because I totally wasn't expecting Glen to sound like that.

Invicta_Veritas 07-08-2007 11:48 PM

He had issues delivering on the last two records he's done--that one and Vital Remains' new one. I guess he's going through some family shit or something and it's really taking a toll on his performance.

Still, I don't see a huge difference.

C.O.A. 07-08-2007 11:50 PM

i have SOR but i haven't really listened to it. i'm too lazy to go get it right now so which deicide albums should i download?

pate 07-08-2007 11:51 PM

Self-titled and Legion

Bazarov 07-08-2007 11:51 PM

A difference in vocals? I only have Legion and Deicide, and their new one.. there's a pretty big difference when you compare Deicide and Legion to The Stench of Redemption. I don't know what his vocals sound like on other albums.
i have SOR but i haven't really listened to it. i'm too lazy to go get it right now so which deicide albums should i download?
Get Deicide and Legion
gogogogogogogogogo

Invicta_Veritas 07-08-2007 11:52 PM

Legion and the one you already have. Others will argue for the S/T; I'm not so sure.

Scars of the Crucifix is alright as well, but not as good as the aforementioned two.

@ Butcher....I don't notice a huge difference between SotC and SoR, but I just got Legion and yea, the vox are a bit different, but I wouldn't say they've gotten worse.

I haven't liked what I've heard from the s/t, the vocals on that annoy me.

To sum it up, I think his vocals are great on every Deicide and VR album except Deicide's s/t, and I don't think there's a huge difference (s/t being the exception).

Tyler 07-08-2007 11:53 PM

Or they're just bad vocals. They just sound really processed, and he probably deserves any family problem he's having since, you know, he named his son Daemon.

Bazarov 07-08-2007 11:54 PM
Or they're just bad vocals. They just sound really processed, and he probably deserves any family problem he's having since, you know, he named his son Daemon.
Wow.

Invicta_Veritas 07-08-2007 11:58 PM

He's an ass. We knew that already.

And I don't think the vocals on Icons of Evil are bad, actually. Just as good as Dechristianize. But I know that that one specifically he had issues delivering on.

suspect 07-08-2007 11:59 PM

Anata is some cool shit. But don't try to listen to them when you've got a headache... Those effed up melodies made my headache worse xD.

C.O.A. 07-09-2007 12:00 AM

what an asshole

yeah i know what you mean lol

AA-12 07-09-2007 12:07 AM

I can't stand Anata. I've given them 2 or 3 tries and no.

C.O.A. 07-09-2007 12:07 AM

anybody got a link to deicides s/t?

FatalEnergy 07-09-2007 12:10 AM

I love the new Deicide and the melodiousness that was brought to it. It's not stupid melo-death. It sounds different and refreshing. The same old **** after a while gets boring.

Legion is my favorite though for sure.

AA-12 07-09-2007 12:11 AM

^I agree. It's great

rattlehead42147 07-09-2007 12:19 AM

deicide blow, especially without ralph.

FatalEnergy 07-09-2007 12:20 AM

I'm curious as to what they're going to try to do without Ralph now.

Angmar 07-09-2007 12:40 AM

Meh, not a huge Deicide fan, they aren't terrible, I just don't really listen to them.

i am the robots 07-09-2007 12:47 AM
new deicide
Vocals on it are so overdone, the music's kinda bland.

Just my opinion.

http://www.myspace.com/hoorayforbraincancer

Also, lol, this has waaay too many pig squeels.

C.O.A. 07-09-2007 01:29 AM

eh deicide is alright on first listen.

i'll have to give it some more listens before i really judge them though.

i am the robots 07-09-2007 01:33 AM

The older the material with them, the better.

Stoic 07-09-2007 05:52 AM

probably becuase they're, you guessed it, tapdancing wankery

nu deicide is officially retarded

Stoic 07-09-2007 06:11 AM

^not a lord anymore? :\

Could you recommend any fast and brutal death/thrash in the vein of early Kreator and Morbid Saint?

Stevie 07-09-2007 06:11 AM

Who cares really about Deicide? They've tried to grasp their old flame and failed. Deicide and Legion. The rest can be discarded.

Dargon 07-09-2007 06:13 AM

yes, but not on here, that's for sure. check your rep.

Stoic 07-09-2007 06:15 AM

^Thanks :) I'm really in the mood of such music. I'm kind of rediscovering thrash at the moment.

EDIT: Alright, expect an e-mail from me!

Satanized, crucified, feel the wrath of suicide
Incubus fear of the sphere, angel darkness disappears
Covenant, blasphemous, open up unholiness
Father Satan let me just unholy sins

Suicide sacrifice
Destruction of holy life
Blood of unholy knife
Satan I sacrifice!!

Dargon 07-09-2007 06:17 AM

best Deicide song ever

Slapping Penguin 07-09-2007 06:57 AM

Hahah Orestes is getting back into metal.

Crap, I still gotta get you that email lol!
Yeah same for me, except I can play everything I've written :p. There's been a few things I've wrote that I had to practice a bunch of times to get it right though. I stopped working on technique ages ago. I can play well enough; I'd rather make some material.
Yeah I can totally understand. I feel I am a fairely competent player and although I could get ALOT better I like to leave learing stuff and technique for classical guitar. My electric is for fun and writing stuff. I however might start trying to improve my skill as lately I have being feeling the need to.

No my stuff isn't really like insane tech death or anything I just like to put some technically demanding sections in between dark, chunky riffs to provide some variety.

repcak 07-09-2007 06:58 AM

Orestes was always into metal, wasn't he?!

UpperDecker 07-09-2007 07:05 AM

I was just wondering if anyone knows if the intro to the Deicide song "Carnage In The Temple...." is an actual recording of that mass suicide or is it just a recreation?

Stevie 07-09-2007 07:06 AM

sounds like a film to me

Jondur 07-09-2007 08:20 AM
Yeah Berner, how dare you post anything mildly interesting or intellectual in the Brutal Death Metal Discussion Thread!
Have you actually contributed anything to this thread? Apart from closing the original? Oh and recommending Disgorge as old school DM

Snide remarks about metalheads and arguing with Dargon? I'm fairly sure that if someone went into some jazz thread and started spamming about them being middle-aged fat men they would be banned fairly quickly.

In short I think this thread might get a lot better, quicker, if you decided not to drop in and share your lack of wisdom with us.
