Summer Romance and Drive (especially the post-Ben Kenney version) top the list for me. I also quite like Pantomime and Sick, Sad Little World.

Sound Boy 10-25-2005 08:53 PM

at the moment my faves are:

"Azwethinkweiz"
"Zee Deveel"
"Monuments and melodies"
"have you ever"
"steller/de do do do"

but thats just at the moment.

btw. i just saw a bootleg version of Stealth and the movie was kinda beat but "make a move" was played ALOT. like the plane downloads every song off the internet or somethin and everytime it attacks it plays that song.

Sleeper 10-25-2005 08:56 PM
I'm looking to pull of Priceless or Sick, Sad, Little World next time. I've also considered Southern Girl and Here in My Room as good cover songs.
Here in My Room would be great.

With their side projects behind them, Incubus returned to the studio last month with producer Brendan O'Brien.

"We always make our records really quickly, and this time we're gonna just slow it all down," Einziger said. "Usually we write 12 or 13 songs, and then we just record them and that's it. We'd like to write, like, 40 songs and really spend a lot more time writing than we ever have."

Even though they're looking for calmness in the studio, the guys are already itching to get back on the road.

"We're talking about doing some shows in South America maybe later this year or sometime at the beginning of next year, whenever we feel like it's a good time to split and go down there," Einziger said.

Sound Boy 10-28-2005 02:31 PM
so are we chaning the name to Aqueous Transmissions or A Certain Shade of Incubus anytime soon?
I'm not sure how we can go about doing that, but yeh i would be down to change the name of the thread.

black.hole.sun 10-28-2005 03:26 PM

Could we have a vote of some sort?

e p 10-28-2005 03:30 PM

the title should be something like MX Yourself: Here in My Incubus Thread

Sleeper 10-28-2005 03:50 PM

We should get all the possible thread names together.

mutant! 10-28-2005 06:08 PM
Whats the post-Ben version like?
Ben plays the guitar part on bass and Mike plays chords on a Fender Rhodes. It's a bit slower too, and the bridge before the last chorus is extended for a few bars with some really nifty vocal harmonies. You can find it on Incubus-Online-View, that mother huge fan site. (Google it for the address.)

Britton 10-28-2005 06:13 PM

So I've learned alotta drive...it's really fun to play

Sound Boy 10-28-2005 06:26 PM
So I've learned alotta drive...it's really fun to play
yeah i like playin the ben kenny version on bass...its easy

as far as thread names go i like all that we've mentioned

certain shade of incubus
mx yourself
aqueous transmissions

mutant! 10-28-2005 06:32 PM

How about Sick, Sad Little Thread?

Sleeper 10-28-2005 06:34 PM

All these are really great.

Idiot Martyr 10-28-2005 09:50 PM

I like the names we've got lined up. I'm trying to think of a few myself but can't get creative right now lol.

How about something like A Thread Left of the Murder or Beware! Incubus Thread!

See mine suck.

Umm Made for Incubus Thread?

There are alot of good names, should we have a deadline for all names. Then a vote?

Idiot Martyr 10-28-2005 10:04 PM
There are alot of good names, should we have a deadline for all names. Then a vote?
Sounds like a good idea to me. How would we do it though. People could either post their votes here or send them to you while you keep the thread updated on the poll. I think the deadline-vote idea is a must though.

Sleeper 10-28-2005 10:55 PM

Ok, everyone who has a idea for a thread name.

Email me it:

tomashek@sbcglobal.net

When should be the deadline for emails? Discuss

I guess it mainly depends on how long we want this process to take really.

Sleeper 10-28-2005 11:14 PM

I say a week from monday. I can't edit the thread name, so i think we need permission or something.

natalie708 10-28-2005 11:17 PM

Nobody mentioned the song by incubus Admiration, whos familiar with that one? i love it it beacuse its quite different, and really random how they have the violin in and evreything but it pulls off very well.

mutant! 10-29-2005 01:20 AM

I've never heard the song. Where's it from?

Sound Boy 10-29-2005 03:32 AM
How about Sick, Sad Little Thread?
Fuck what i said..i really like this title...probably cause its my favorite incubus song

and Admiration is the second best song they had onthe Stealth sdk. the first being make a move...like i said "neither of us can see" i dont like much cause i think they coulda had a better female vocalist. some one better to accent brandons vocals

Sound Boy 10-29-2005 03:45 AM

lets try to keep this thread bumped...how about if you were to make a "best of incubus" album..what would it consist of? lets keep it at 18 tracks max...

mine would be:

01.Clean
02.Have you ever
03.Sick Sad Little world
04.Nowhere Fast
05.Familiar
06.Summer Romance
07.Hilikus (enjoy version)
08.Privilege
09.Glass
10.Certain Shade of Green (acoustic, lounge version)
11.11 am
12.Echo
13.Stellar/De do do do
14.The Warmth
15.Aqueous Transmissions
16.I miss you
17.Priceless
18.Make Yourself

wow...that was alot harder then i thought it was gonna be

\m/ vo|ati|e \m/ 10-29-2005 03:21 PM

That drive version with ben is cool,i think they only did it at red rocks though with mike still on the piano,it was all class,i live in New Zealand Incubus have only came to our country once and it was in the North Island hopeing they will come down south soon!

as for the thread title "A Certain Shade Of Incubus" thats gota win!

send a email to an admin!

mutant! 10-29-2005 03:24 PM

No, they did it at MTV Supersonic as well (WTF is MTV Supersonic?) - at least, that's what my mp3 tag says. Anyway, I feel you man, I live in South Africa and I'm willing to bet I'll be cold in the ground before Incubus tours here.

aaahhh52 10-29-2005 10:07 PM

as far as i know thats the only version they play now (the bass version)

Sound Boy 10-29-2005 11:18 PM

yeah its just to put a spin on the overplayed so it can be fun to play again...

Idiot Martyr 10-29-2005 11:21 PM
yeah its just to put a spin on the overplayed so it can be fun to play again...
It also makes it easier if Mike just stays on the piano after Here In My Room. And they don't have switch to an acoustic setting for one song.

Sound Boy 10-30-2005 11:38 AM

i like how he still holds onto the guitar though. solo baby
