Theres a wicked drum thing on drummerworld, 5mb Quicktime movie.

I really wish Dave would do something about the sound of his drums though, they just sound bad compared to like Bodom or Lamb of God.

ThrashMaster27 10-18-2005 04:42 PM

Dave's done a bit of drumming on the side of Slayer. Mainly Grip Inc, aswell as Testament, Fantomas and someone else I can't remember at the moment. He's great on the Testament album, but it's a shame it sucks pretty hard.

Paul was in Forbidden, who are a pretty decent thrash band and also on the latest Exodus album, which is quite brilliant.

I suppose it's quite hard to compare the two. People like Dave in Slayer more, that's all there is to it.

stevo_13 10-18-2005 05:01 PM

Dave has also done some drumming with Apocalyptica. He did all the drumming on their new cd(alteast for the songs with drumming).

Nostalgia 10-18-2005 10:00 PM

Bazarov 10-18-2005 10:46 PM

That's pretty good. I all for a thread title change. I don't have any ideas what about you other guys?

ThrashMaster27 10-18-2005 11:30 PM

Dunno, I'm crap with name ideas.

Just preference I guess.. I think is Dave is a legend, no doubt (especially with the things he pulls off in Fantomas), but some of my fav slayer drumming is on albums like Divine.. and Diabolus.. I find his technique a bit more solid and deadly.

It's a bit of a shame he gets so over'-shadowed by Lombardo from Slayer fans.
Very underrated imo

lightningmetal666 10-19-2005 12:35 PM

Hey, I was wondering if someone could email me the Show no mercy album?

Butcher hooked me up with it but by the time I got to a burner the link expired. I bought a zip disk so I can save it and burn it when I get a chance.

Thanx guys.

Hey thanx butcher. My email is lightningmetal666@yahoo.com

hey I just noticed you're from Cali as well. Maybe it's something in the water or whatever that makes ppl from california get into weird death/thrash metal?

Alright, I'm uploading it.

I really have no idea, but I have noticed that. Though San Diego seems to have a bigger emo hardxcore scene.

lightningmetal666 10-19-2005 06:51 PM

Here in the Antelope Valley (Lancaster, Palmdale and surrounding areas) it's all about hardcore/some emo. There's hardly any real metal except for my bro-in-laws band. His band sounds like a mixture of Pantera/BLS. It's so awesome sounding. If only they could get a great vocalist, they'd get a record deal for sure.

thanx for the uploads, I've got it saved to a zip disk and I'll burn it to a cd once I can make my way to a burner.

NP: The Antichrist (Metal storm is soooooo bad@$$)

The second solo in that song, is my favorite Slayer solo. And that song is probably my favorite song on the album next to Die By the Sword.

Best song from Show No Mercy is either Black Magic or Tormentor for me. Black Magic is a great song to play live.

It's for sure my fave Slayer album for solos.

Pfffffft. *Smacks own head*

I totally forgot about Tormentor. That was the first song off that album I heard. It is a very great song.

So what's the deal with Live Undead? Is it even live? doesn't sound like it half the time.

It's a good listen though. Tom's always fun to listen to after the songs.

According to Slayerized it says that it is a studio album, but rumored that they let some fans in to watch them play, like some studio concert.

I read in the album sleeve to the STTA box set that there was a band called the undead around the same time slayer released that album.

Apparently this band called the Undead then released an album called live slayer.

Hale_of_Gunfire 10-20-2005 12:18 PM

Eh, that's okay. I know lots of people who only like Raining Blood or South of Heaven. Atleast you didn't come in here and say some mindless bashing about Slayer.

Britton 10-20-2005 02:30 PM

Hey dude thanks again for that upload

lightningmetal666 10-20-2005 03:45 PM

Yay for songs about death, destruction and satan.

I think raining blood is good but there are better songs.

Yeah.

Personally I think that At Dawn They Sleep is their best song. But Raining Blood is still awesome.

nowitzki 10-20-2005 03:57 PM

I go through phases all the time where I'm really into one Slayer song and it just gets stuck in my head and I keep playing it over and over...
Right now it's South of Heaven.

Nostalgia 10-20-2005 04:02 PM

I'm starting to drift off from reign in blood...Don't get me wrong it a amazing album, but I'm starting to get into eariler stuff like hell awaits and show no mercy.

EDIT:Butcher youR CC avatar was awesome, why the change?

Same here. Right now (thanx to butcher) it's Metalstorm. I played it for a guy that was sitting next to me at the college and didn't tell him who it was until after he heard it. He was all about emo and sh*t and I told him who the band was and he was blown away. He actually like the song.

Yay to me for converting emo kids to real music. I'm starting a musical inquisition. Who want's in?

I don't know. I just saw this picture on google images and thought it was way better than the Butchered at Birth avatar.

Nostalgia 10-20-2005 04:45 PM

Google makes good avatars, but the dims are really big.

If you like those albums, check out hell awaits (both the song and the album)

The song literally sounds like the music you'd hear upon entering hell.

Britton 10-20-2005 06:37 PM

That's intresting
