i agree. i like these threads. this thread > entire pit

perhaps we could combine this thread with coffee's idea?
Agreed, seems reasonable.

I like this thread particularly because it gives me, a new user, an opprotunity to get to know the people here and feel more comfortable in talking.

I'll trade you, your life for mine.

But I get to keep the money.

Deal?

ScorpSath 07-25-2004 05:54 PM

ck, lr is making this a good thread for people to discuss sort of like a pit for the bass forum I think it's a great idea. As for the cd check the first casual thread she explained to me why it was cancelled.

Serus 07-25-2004 05:57 PM

I played my first show with my new band. Went over pretty well except for my D string breaking. Why do they only break during shows?

Wintermute 07-25-2004 05:57 PM

A bit of bassing, a bit of being modded, then modding, and a bit of time with my girlfriend. Much time with friends, much time working.

Been pretty busy, now that I come to think about it.

And congratulations, RaVen Bassist!

Kandyman 07-25-2004 05:59 PM

I was gonna comment that we never have mods on. But then you have to go and pop up. Invisible Man

Congrats and good luck. :chug:

RushFan03 07-25-2004 06:01 PM

Well kandyman, if you throw in say... 15 bucks we have a deal :chug:

Wintermute 07-25-2004 06:04 PM

I think the mods all use the 'invisible' mode. I know I do. You never know when we may be watching... ;)

Kandyman 07-25-2004 06:05 PM
Well kandyman, if you throw in say... 15 bucks we have a deal :chug:
It's a deal, be at work tomorrow at 6:00 A.M. Stop by my house and get your uniform.

Raven, which Lincoln do you live in?

All too true for me, except the Halo is rather limited since my brother got NCAA 2005.

Jim Hull 07-26-2004 02:12 AM

The days of staying up all night playing halo have started to pass but my life will be destroyed in november.

popinfresh 07-26-2004 05:00 AM

^^ Indeed.

Well, my last week kinda sucked. Today sucked, as I got 3 hours sleep the last 3 days. I figured I suck at bass, so i'm gonna start actually practicing again, and im learning theory. All should be good come this new year, hopefully. Then vce music will be a breeze

wishiwaskurt210 07-26-2004 05:26 AM

last week sucked i sat around monday thru-friday g/f broke up with me then i went to play bass and i broke a string so i tryed to weld it back together (bad idea) i ended up making a moltin bubble of metal that poped and sprayed all over me now i have a nice burn mark on my chin ...

_GanondorF_ 07-26-2004 05:41 AM

lmao welding a string....thats pure genius there

AfroMan 07-26-2004 06:17 AM

LightRaven 07-26-2004 09:25 AM
Lightraven... I'm starting to resent the fact that all you do now is make these threads. This is a bass forum and you're the authoritive figure. What do you say in the rules about spam? This is spam nomatter how you view it. Yes, I did post in the first one but the constant threads "woo hoo, come on in" as if it's some kind of blessing are wearing a little thin.

It wouldn't be so bad if there was proper contribution from you. a lesson or 2 maybe? Especially about what's involved in music a college... a lot of people would find that helpful and interesting.

And 1 more thing. What happened to the Bass CD? was nice to leave us (me) hanging on that one
That's all I do now, is it? Make the Casual threads and then I sit here with my thumbs up my ***. The point of these threads is to get people to know each other and to have a lighthearted thread.... you don't like it? Piss off. Is this spam? Not really.. considering it stays on topic (that being "casual") and I'm doing this as a means to get the bass forum back into the community it once was.

A proper contribution.... So, because I haven't made a "lesson" or whatnot... you are going to disregard everything I've done for the bass forum for the past 3 years? That's quite convienent. When people have asked questions that I have knowledge of.. I answer... Especially with your music college idea... I've gone through extensively the things that people need to know. Was it my own thread or was is a lesson/article? Nope. I was just answering questions.

And if perhaps you read things around here alittle more, you'd know what happened to the CD.

morpcat 07-26-2004 09:35 AM
I have an unholy amount of work for the International Baccalaureate program I'm entering next year in school, so I basically have to be working from now until school starts on summer work. And I have (no exaggeration) seven essays, and a book to be read between now and the end of the month, because my teachers decide that making us turn in stuff in the middle of the summer is perfectly kosher (which is clearly isn't).

Sorry, just bitching. Don't mind me.
Ha ha ha... 7 essays.. and a summer. Once you're into the IB program you're likely to find yourself with 4 essays... All due THE NEXT DAY. All-nighters are gonna become a big part of your life :)

But look up, parties ahead!

pixiesfanyo 07-26-2004 10:29 AM

Parties? Where and why?

Ruhtra 07-26-2004 12:52 PM

I changed my avatar. I love screwing around with downloaded fonts. :D

recently, yes.
The point of these threads is to get people to know each other and to have a lighthearted thread.... you don't like it? Piss off.
I can post when and where I please. Forums are about learning and oppinions, what I said is my oppinion.
Is this spam?
yes, considering this is the bass forum
considering it stays on topic (that being "casual") and I'm doing this as a means to get the bass forum back into the community it once was.
Things change, get over it. If you dont like how things are now then you dont have to stay

yeah, sure. You've done a bit, answered questions etc. I just find it funny how other people here can answer questions and still write up a tonne of lessons though.
And if perhaps you read things around here alittle more, you'd know what happened to the CD.
Sorry for missing the thread labeled "Bass compilation CD, why it's not happening". I must have missed that one.

RJDBass 07-26-2004 02:03 PM

my week was great. my manager at the elctronic store i work at is my new best friend. he gave me the whole week off on the count of the renovations are store is currently undergoing. with my time off i tried to break the record for most continous sleep. i made it to 26 hours. only problem is that i dont know what the record is. the rest of the week was devoted to bass and the fine art of eating pizza

pixiesfanyo 07-26-2004 02:29 PM

Coffee you seem bitter :( *Hug*

UncleJam 07-26-2004 02:36 PM

Can't we all just get along? ;)

Oh crap, I need to get to class. I'll post something more insightful later... heh.

nisakss 07-26-2004 03:38 PM

Well my week was very standard, worked from monday to friday, as usual. Hell, sometimes I feel that I can't distinguish one day from the other, know what I mean? Everything is just so plain normal. When I was younger I used to feel that sleeping interrupted life, you know, like you had something to do and sleeping was sometimes a problem, now as soon as I wake up I'm thinking about getting back to it, it almost seems as if now when I'm awake I am interrupting my sleep, weird. Yeah...guess I have to find something fun to do, besides playing bass, i don't know....maybe a new girl, or something...
