None in my experience. Most of my friends from home who listen to emo are very independent of these trends you call they adhere to.
There's a difference between emo kids and fans of emo. |
Totalliez.
Anyway, back when the music was being made, lots of kids just wore whatever. Big pants and t-shirts. (SERIOUSLY XL!) If bands made/sold shirts, they were either L or XL, mostly. |
Also, they called Snapcase an emo band. They're in album highlights along with Alkaline Trio and Cap'n Jazz. How retarded can one site be?
They reviewed a Rag Men CD (ex-Merauder, Hatebreed) and referred to their music as a more aggressive Nickelback. |
i dont like emo/screamo myself so i ask this community what is is about this music is so great? (im not trying to insult anyone im just looking for an asnwer)
|
Well firstly you haven't heard emo, so this is the wrong place to ask for the type of "emo" you're thinking of. If you want to learn about real emo and the misconceptions that bands like Underoath, The Used, Senses Fail, etc. are emo, then read through this thread. Otherwise, take your question to pop-punk where you'll be greeted with something like "bcuz tehy por der harts out i meen taek burt form the used he pueks onstage omg thast so intens"
|
Ack. The Used.
|
Anyone here like Mohinder? I just listened to one song and I really like it. I'm trying to look for their discography..
|
I have it, but on my other computer.
|
Haha, it's in my other pants.
|

One of best bands of their time. The basslines are crazy!!! Marc Bianchi (Indian Summer) played in Mohinder for like a week. Ken Shipley (September, Tree Records) told everyone he was in Mohinder. Lies lies lies. |
Can anybody suggest some The (International) Noise Conspiricy for me to download? Ago they're hardcore, well I think I haven't heard anything by them to actually know.
Litsen to The Shape Of Punk To Come by Refused. It's the band that broke up and became The (International) Noise Conspiricy, they are the hardcore you're looking for |

|
You've lurked on Lambgoat, haven't you?
|
Well, they're still L or XL but they're Youth L or XL.
On an unrelated note, anybody wanna send me more You and I?
I have the discography at dialupsucks |
Some bands to suggest
I beleive music has its own way of expressing itself, and many bands express it differently. Some bands i would like to suggest are..
I have dreams - a band with good variety of voices and meaningful lyrics. They blend a kind of hardcore guitar taste with screamo singing to make it very fun to listen to. Sakita Sarra - Probobly one of the best bands from central jersey. "A bunch of freshmen in highschool trying to make a name for themselves..." With their distinct style in the screamo scene, like circle, and their devilish voices they put off a fun vibe as well as a good show. For as young as they are, they are worth the download. New EP coming out soon and you should all look into it. www.myspace.com/sakitasarra Official Sakita Sarra Website The Breakout - Another band from central jersey, the breakout is considered hardcore. I suggest the breakout because they put on an awesome show and their music is very well written. On their way with the new EP "Prove Us Wrong", we expect many things from this band. www.myspace.com/thebreakout Lastly, i would like to reccomend the band Circle Takes The square. This is by far one of my favorite bands, i like them because of their high, and low screams, Their clean guitar riffs and drums beats, Their distinct words as well as style. They are amazing live and i have yet to see them mess up. This is an amazing band that will hit it big in the Screamo scene. |

Very good for a group of freshman.
The Breakout - Another band from central jersey, the breakout is considered hardcore. I've been plugging Sakita Sarra for quite a while. Check their purevolume page for their other song, it doesn't have a long spacey intro.

Chris tells me that this place doesnt suck. i might post on occasion

Re-upload your avatar man.

I'm really starting to get into Hot Cross. Personally, I think they are better than Saetia, but a lot of people disagree with me. I think it's just cause Saetia has a more established reputation and have been around longer.
Who do you think is better? |
I'm guessing Hot Cross will be the popular pick.
personally, i listen to Saetia much more than Hot Cross. |
I listen to Hot Cross way more. I like 'em, but Saetia are kinda overrated.
|

i'll upload your mom |
Who hasn't uploaded Chris' mom?

Who's Chris?

cb.

I personally like Saetia more but I still love Hot Cross.
|
overall i definitely like hot cross better, and i listen to them a lot more. the thing saetia has over hot cross though is the emotion. billy just doesn't seem to put that same emotion out there in his vocals or lyrics that he had with saetia, but people grow and move on, so thats kind of to be expected.
I have the discography
at dialupsucks
Discography doesn't include their best album: The Curtain Falls. |
Someone should add something like in the punk forum about bands that don't belong in this forum. I'm getting tired of this Taking Back Sunday shit.
|
Word.
|
Thank you DFelon.
Discography doesn't include their best album: The Curtain Falls.
God "Curtain Falls" is good, I'd say out of the whole Hot Cross/Saetia/You and I/Neil Perry family that "Curtain Falls" is probably my favorite record from that bunch. I can barely understand a word of it, but it's as much soul as I feel like I've ever heard in a record. |
Does anyone know of bands with the same calibur as The #12 Looks Like You
and the Blood Brothers, everything else i've heard is f***ing repetitive. Please give me some f***ing suggestions and stop trying to act like the music belongs to you, you shady f**ks!! |
