maiden are power metal. power metal is music that is heavily orientated around guitar and guitar solos. You listen to that sound file, and you'll hear that maiden are power metal. what an ***
Iron Maiden have power metal-ish sounding songs at times, like "heaven can wait" and "sun and steel" but are not power metal. They influenced ALOT of power metal bands for sure but lack alot of important elements that would make them power metal, overall...Iron Maiden > any metal band so it dosent matter! lol

Hey, have any of you guys ever thought of doing a Maiden album review in the "CD Reviews" forum? Even if one of the albums has already been reviewed, you can just post your review in that thread instead of making a new one. Sure, a review by any of you may be a bit biased, but it's bound to be informative, and that's all I care about.

FrailandBedazzled1979 05-14-2004 01:15 PM

^^^

i thought i wrote one for "Somewhere In Time" a few months back, but i could be mistaken. if not i may write one later on. Biased, not as much as informative lol. Rather than build up each song id rather explain what they are about and how they are played (highlights, lyrics, etc) :thumb:

The Clansman...secrets 05-14-2004 01:50 PM

I did one on Dance of Death and Rock in Rio, but they were deleted, they said I need 'more information.'

If any of you watched the Maiden interview on Headbanger's Ball in Januray, Bruce revealed that a new DVD is coming out from the Dance of Death tour. Sweet sweet nectar..it's like my DVD players tearin' *** all over the house...cept it ain't moving. My only regret for saying this is that it won't come out for a helluva long time...six months to be exact.

While I'm on regrets, I royally pissed off the the No More Lies Souvenier EP hasn't come out in the States. I was waitin' and waitin' and waitin' and no ****ed CD. I'm gonna go run off and fantasize about owning it.

HondoII 05-14-2004 01:55 PM

You should follow my DANCE OF DEATH review format ;)

Thunder Fingers 05-15-2004 05:44 AM

sounds like the wickerman for me... the later ones are just stuffe he improvises..

or its "Ghost of the navigator" i listen after the drums, they sound like ghost...... i dont know...

FrailandBedazzled1979 05-15-2004 08:06 PM

i hope they do a little "interview" with each band member like they did on "Rock in Rio" it was intresting to hear them all talk about how they felt about the tour as indivuduals, not just as the band, and to see how they got into playing, their feel about Maiden and the other band members...they really are a close group of friends and enjoy every moment of their career, and that means alot to the fans to see a band so thankful and energetic about their career.

GurS 05-18-2004 04:28 AM

opinion time:

Burr or McBrain?

Photophobic 05-18-2004 10:35 AM

McBrain, but I'm not very familiar with Burr's style, as I only have number of the beast from his time. I think he over used the hi-hat 16ths though, but I might be imagining hearing them on some songs.

Thunder Fingers 05-18-2004 10:57 AM

I like McBrains insane ramblings on stuff like listen with nicko, the end of Black bart blues... age of inocence... they are both great drumers so i almost have to judge by that :p but nicko are MAD!

The Clansman...secrets 05-18-2004 02:04 PM

I prefer Nicko over Clive, because Nicko his 48 years of drumming experience. (If you don't believe me, watch Nick's day off on the Rock in Rio CD.) I do feel sorry for Clive. The man has Multiple Sclerosis for God's sake.

The Clansman...secrets 05-18-2004 02:06 PM

Dude, I'll buy one off you. Name the price.

Tank 05-18-2004 02:13 PM

i dont know
Nickos a top guy
but i think clive is a better drummer
aah ive decided
The winner is : Clive
(reason : he made up the Run To The Hills Intro)
