kurrpt 06-21-2006 09:57 AM

its fairly decent actually.

Anchor Man, now that was un-funny

SirSpamalot 06-21-2006 09:57 AM

hmm I wonder if I have anyt old PMFK tapes lying around

j_p 06-21-2006 09:57 AM

urrite. vince vaughan is the f'ing man in that movie too.

Sad But True 06-21-2006 09:58 AM

Anchorman sucked balls. Dodgeball though, I know it's cheesy, I know it's quite lame, but I'll be damned if White Goodman isn't one of the best characters ever

-=The_Dude=- 06-21-2006 09:59 AM

I thought Anchorman was hilarious

Sad But True 06-21-2006 10:00 AM

I just thought it relied on it's stupidity to get laughs rather than good writing.

kurrpt 06-21-2006 10:00 AM

really...

i felt stupid for buying it. I know ill never watch it again. Dodgeball was much better, for me anyway

SirSpamalot 06-21-2006 10:00 AM

I liked anchorman, but then again I found Team America hilarious while all of my movie-savvy friends tel me it was crap

Sad But Yeah Mate 06-21-2006 10:01 AM

Anchorman owned a fair deal. The jokes were precise, it was random and pointless at the right times and it looked good. Dodgeball felt a bit cheap, it wasn't anywhere near as funny once it got going and the ending wa awful. It felt like a kids disney film with more middle aged male actors.

Sad But True 06-21-2006 10:01 AM

FUCK THAT!

Team America is the single greatest film ever. These so called 'savvy' friends probably just watched the film, instead of realising what it's trying to say (in a not so subtle way)

-=The_Dude=- 06-21-2006 10:01 AM

Team America's aweseom but I dont find very rewatchable

Ganon 06-21-2006 10:01 AM

I loved Team America so much.

The last film I've watched and really didn't like was Napolean Dynamite, which everyone I've spoken to seemed to love.

j_p 06-21-2006 10:01 AM

Anchorman was good up until the ending. I loved the tool from "The Office" though.

kurrpt 06-21-2006 10:03 AM

i love napolean dynamite actually. The characters really sealed the deal for me

Sad But True 06-21-2006 10:03 AM

I can literaly watch Team America all day.

And I've never seen Napoleon Dynamite

j_p 06-21-2006 10:03 AM

Was that bench warmers movie any good?

dodgeball>anchorman but only just

SirSpamalot 06-21-2006 10:04 AM

I love Napolean Dynamite but it pisses me off when people try to quote it

or wear "Vote for Pedro" tshirts

Sad But Yeah Mate 06-21-2006 10:04 AM

Any of youns seen Dead Mans Shoes?

Not comedy by any stretch although has some funny moments but an excellent, excellent film.

-=The_Dude=- 06-21-2006 10:05 AM
i love napolean dynamite actually. The characters really sealed the deal for me
It was good the first couple timtes I saw it. Now I hate it

kurrpt 06-21-2006 10:05 AM

i really dont respect most peoples opinions when it comes to movies.

i will say i love team america, and thought it was brilliant

-=The_Dude=- 06-21-2006 10:06 AM

everything matt stone and trey parker make is brilliant

kurrpt 06-21-2006 10:10 AM

they are definitely comical in nature. I dont always find everything they do or make funny, but i respect them none the less

I Love Goooooats 06-21-2006 10:11 AM

Napoleon Dynamite was the stupidest movie I have ever seen in my life.

kurrpt 06-21-2006 10:13 AM

sucks to be you then

I Love Goooooats 06-21-2006 10:16 AM

I want this book.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0833030477/ref=sr_11_1/102-2062513-4572117?%5Fencoding=UTF8

Just listen to the reviews.
A truly amazing genre-breaking work of art unlike any that has ever been or ever will. I was captivated from the moment I opened the cover until the extremely suspenseful moment I turned the last page. With that said, I was a little disappointed that 71602 was knocked off by 92937 just as the plot was unfolding, but the arrival of 96240 really got my blood pumping and I just couldn't put the book down from that moment on.

I am so glad that Amazon.com is offering the "Search Inside This Book" option for this book so that it can be enjoyed by countless other avid readers who otherwise may not have come across it. I wait, impatiently, for the audio CD version of this fine book.

It wasn't a bad book, it did have its good points, but I'd recommend waiting until the movie comes out.
I hear rumours that Emilio Estevez is up for the lead
I Love Goooooats 06-21-2006 10:19 AM

After exploring the "Search Inside This Book" feature and snooping through a few of the embedded prose poems, I knew that this was a book I needed on my shelf. (Though I do admit I ordered it (ostensibly) for my girlfriend's birthday--and borrowed it when she was done!) I finished the tome in one enraptured sitting and, despite a limp third act denouement, the book was taut, well paced, and fresh.

I do, however, have one concern. I stumbled upon the book while looking up the ISBN number for Haynes' Owner Workshop Manual for Honda 2-valve Twins (1977 - 1985) -- and I got to thinking... Perhaps running across ISBN# 1 85010 359 3 in Rand's "A Million Random Digits" wasn't a coincidence -- perhaps some of the digits aren't that *random* at all. I don't mean to be an alarmist--and I certainly don't bandy about charges of plagiarism lightly--but if you will, please note this excerpt from the author's tender preface:

738 9377504 03478 47589 43 705 47309 67490 27348 57490 57443509 37405 40978 39794 "31847 57303!" 57049 325740 57403 7509347?

Now, we can't help but notice a completely different "voice" littered throughout the book. For example, in the opening of the penultimate chapter:

704478 489 705 47390 278 574409 3705 978794 9847 57303 57049 32740 574035093 473

Or the crassness in the "bedroom" scene:

473268978 971 23473 3785 [expletive] 3434987 3490809 34709 34908 40700 34087 439874 97835

And after the embarrassment (we'd all rather forget) concerning Wm. T Metzger's otherwise breathtaking "Table of 10,000 square roots: Gives square roots up to 4 digits on the basis of the square roots arranged in consecutive order 1 to 10,000 and the numbers ranging from 1 to 100,000,000" the publishing world can't afford another snafu.
