amen.
i would really like to see them as well

Hodgetts 01-09-2006 01:49 AM

Well, i remember last year they were saying that there keen to come to Australia and they want to try and get over here by the end of year or early 2006. I guess there just too busy. They should be here some time this year though. Probably to tour for the new album that there going to release. Oh yeah, and where did u hear that Heafy's ditching the screaming? That would suck. That would probably mean they will just become more commercial and emo and just plain gay.

nowitzki 01-09-2006 06:04 AM

Why Trivium, why? Of all the songs on Ascendency you have to pick by far the worst song for your next single.
I guess Dying In Your Arms is probably going to appeal to all the emo kids out there so I can understand why they're doing it I suppose.

I don't think so actually, I'm sure I read in an interview that the new album will be more influenced by bands such as Dream Theater.

MRDuCran 01-09-2006 06:23 AM

I don't know if this has been discussed, but have any of you seen the new YOung Guitar with these guys in it?
I only bought if for Alexi but I wasn't impressed by anything off the DVD.
Alexi wasn't playing to great, neither were Trivium and that Malmsteen wannabe had bad tone and was rather annoying with the Amin shred crap.

shark_biscuit 01-09-2006 08:03 AM

...trivium is awesome for their age...i recon they'll definatley go far...i love the technicality of their songs ...and their guitar solo's are orgasmic :naughty: ...not that i'm a guitarist or anything(drummer actually)... travis is definatley one of my top 5 drummers our bands just started learning 'Like Light To Flies' like some of the others on this thread...it's a working progress but its an :thumb: song to jam

i am the robots 01-09-2006 08:09 AM

I am actually looking forward to the new album, it should be good... musically, as I understand, Matt Heafy can't sing... or scream for that matter... in all seriousness he should drop his egomania and they should find a singer that doesn't suck, then they could have good music and vocals, but it's not very productive to complain about impossibilities such as Matt Heafy no longer being an egomaniac.

The Cynic 01-09-2006 07:17 PM

^ He's not that bad but I agree. They should get a better singer for the new album.

Britton 01-09-2006 08:25 PM

Wow so I just heard dying in your arms is the next single....wow my least favorite track. Oh well.

It should do well. My radio station never plays Trivium :(

Worst/poppiest song on the whole album

Stoo 01-10-2006 09:03 AM

So I just downloaded some of Triviums songs. And I have to say...

Thumbs up....

...Until that twat starts singing. He does not have the voice for that screaming, kind of like most other bands in that genre. If he had a deeper voice it would sound more agressive, therefore in this case, better. Kind of like a Phil Anselmo voice.

Steve DeBerg 01-10-2006 09:07 AM
Worst/poppiest song on the whole album
Indeed. The entire album kills untill that track, then the mood just drops right off.

rik 01-10-2006 09:21 AM
My band play pull harder on the strings of your martyr and like light to the flies, the first time i played and sang/screamed pull harder i nearly fainted, you really need to concentrate on breathing, more than i realised
Our band also play Pull Harder, although we are without a singer at the moment, so it's just instrumental.

They have alot of potential. Matt Heafy should just play rymthm guitar and stop singing though. His death vocals and clear vocals are both below average.

That solo in gunshot to the head...... Nothing better than a dualing solo.

mr black 01-11-2006 07:49 PM

Yeah i've said it once and i've said it again auto-tuning vocals in metal = nononononononoooooo. They should get Howard Jones to sing for them, now that guy can sing !

No... Get lawrence welk.... He will chase away Matt Heafy and sing...

Britton 01-12-2006 07:23 PM

There is nothing better then dualing solo's

ain't that the truth

Britton 01-13-2006 11:15 AM
Most new bands now haave a good cop bad cop kinda vocal thing. We just wanted to go one way all the way, so we went bad cop.
So Amott said somthin along those lines, and i agree 100%.

Britton 01-13-2006 10:21 PM
Now you do, seeing as you deleted one. :(
You can do the same...but it doesn't really matter.

Does the radio station in your local town/city play Trivium? Mine never does...

mr black 01-15-2006 09:28 AM

Can't say Aussie radio stations play anything else except house, black guys holding their dicks and cheesy ballads... Although i did hear Davidian - Machine Head, the other day on Triple R. That was cool :thumb:

How long till their new album, i have an inkling it'll have the same awsome music but they'll go for the money and have more autotuned monkey business in their music :(
