Im working on a new project starting tommorow hopefully, im fabricating a gong bass type drum and stand. I've got an old 22"x14" bass drum laying with a beat up wrap thats still in playable condition. Im gonna strip the wrap off and refinish it and get rid of the reso side lugs altogether. Once thats all done then im going to either 1. Buy some simple L-rod mounts and drill them into the shell and set it up like a giant floor tom. Or 2 try and fabricate a taller stand so the drum can be up high and tilted in peart style.

We'll see how it goes, if it comes out good i'll post some new shots. :cool:

before i started listening to mahavisnu orchestra and dokken before i went to bed i would stay up at least two hours before falling asleep, i listen for a good 45 minutes and when im tired nothings in my head so i can fall asleep. It sucks though i feel like im getting stupider by not thinking enough.

I have a huuuuge hangover.

How is everyones day so far.

my day's been going pretty good so far. i got up half an hour ago (11:45, early for me)
and it's my birthday, which is always good, because i get money. plus i get my paycheck of $3-400 tomorrow. hopefully my brother goes golfing right away so i can go play drums for a few solid hours. i think i might go have a bowl of cereal, and possibly shower. we'll see. i love being in my pj's all day, unshowered.

i didnt fall asleep till 4 last night. i had to struggle to stay awake till 2:30, then after that, i couldnt go to sleep. don't you hate when that happens?

Yeah! That's what happened, I was so tired at like 9, so I thought "Hey, if I stay up and watch Conan, I'll be ever MORE tired!"

Turns out I pass the threshold and I'm even more awake after the show at 1:30.

In florida they are thinking of raising the driving age to 18..... like that will help, all the bad drivers here are over 70. But i have been wondering how it works, cause im 16 with a license, will it be taken away till im 18?

Also my fan came today so I won't die of heat stroke playin in my drum room which has no blinds and is in full sunlight most of the day.

dammit its going to be 95-100 in my garage all week. And i have lessons at 130 so i have to practice for a few hours.

im having to retake the drug alchohal course again,the failed to get an approval on the course when i was 15, but they still gave me a permit, so now that im 16 they are making me pay for it again :angry: 30 bucks that could go to drum gear. :upset:

You guys are lucky it's hot, my parents love the air conditioning on full blast, I'm freeeeezing downstairs in my basement. I can't play when it's cold, my joints don't work and thats how you hurt yourself.

Ohh man I wish it was cold here, I love to FREZZE.

Man when it's winter/fall I play alot more then in the summer, when it's hot and humid it just wears me down.

I work in a motor rewinding shop so with the blowtorches and ovens on all day it gets soooooo hot, last thing I want when I get home is to play drums in sauna :lol:

im exactly the same

being cold is better for your health too, you lose more body fat and get more muscle mass because you are shaking rather than just sweating out water that you end up drinking later on when it's hot.
