I was *IN* Little Shop of Horrors in high school, I had the solo at the beginning of "Downtown":
Alarm goes off at seven, and you start uptown You put in your eight hours for the powers that have always been... 'Til its five pm.... That was me. :D The only "part" I had. Well, I was sort of part of the Chiffons too, but there were a bunch of us and I didn't have any lines. I'm a singer not an actor, Jim! ;) Its fun. Did you watch the movie? I was very impressed; for the most part they stayed very true to the musical. |
It wasn't just a bass forum attack.. all over the boards... I was unfortunate enough to be the only super on at the time... so it took me an hour to delete over 100 of those posts...
guess who isn't a happy camper? LR
LR, did you get them all? He spammed all over under at least two different names... |
pixiesfan, you must be joking :amaze: Disintegration is one of the finest cd's of the 80's!!
And 311's cover is pretty cool, especially the violin part played on guitar, but the vocals suck. He isnt a bad singer, but he just doesnt fit in wit hthe song. |

I got lukeskywalker, badmiton, some guy soggy or whatever, and i just banned jimmy's cheesesteak.... if the last person has porn posted everywhere.. someone else is going to have to clean it, cause I can't do it right now. LR |
I *do* have to agree with you on that point, Radiobass. The vocals are okay, but... *shrug* But the arrangement is stellar.

Nope, I think you got all the names I saw... *hugs* What a mess. Thanks for cleaning it up.
|
And the sweet bassline has chorus, which I just noticed now...
EDIT: Shelbel, 2-3 posts before. |
Radio, the Cure makes me want to stab myself in the eye
how did you pull off that constantly growing plant at an high school? :p
*im just a mean green mother from outer space* Just got to love It :p yeah, i watched the movie, now i want to see the musical live :p
We rented a series of puppets from some community college; it started with a hand puppet on a table (the puppeteer sat under the table covered with a tablecloth) and ended up with a HUGE foam contraption that a guy had to wear (he sat in a special chair; his legs had these pants on that made them looks like roots, and he moved the mouth with his arms). The guy doing the voice sat down in the orchestra pit with the band. It *so* rocked. I mean, really. We had an awesome drama dept. Oh- and our Mr. Mushnik was a Mrs. Mushnik. Our Seymour was this little guy, and Mrs. Mushnik was a BIG girl; at one point he literally jumped into her arms, it was hysterical! I have some pics at home; I should scan them in. :D |

I'm pretty sure you're right. |

it doesnt sound like a nice musical.... "little shop of Horrors?" can anyone give me a brief discription on it, im to lazy to google it (yeah im really really lazy)
|
Hmmm, a brief synopsis of Little Shop...
Seymour is a mensch working for Mr. Mushnik's Flower Shop in the slums. He's madly in love with Audrey, who is seeing a sadistic dentist who beats her. One day an alien plant shows up in the shop and things start to get weird... the plant, it turns out, is carnivorous and intelligent, and has aims of taking over the world. See it, its GREAT! |
....wow...a little confused on the beating but the plant sounds awesome...
|
You can honestly say you've not seen Steve Martin as The Dentist?
*sings* Because I'm a Dentist... I take great pleasure in causing things PAIN! Bill Murray is awesome as the patient in the movie... The girl who plays Audrey is the one who originated the role on Broadway if I recall correctly. The whole thing is sort of twisted and sad and funny, all at once... Very dark humor. |
dark....seems scary to me but anyways shelbel ur really all over this forum, quite amazing if u ask me,
Im just the really good "guy" friend ya know?... nothing special
Oh I've been there, and got the t-shirt. But it passes. You will probably never get past being a friend, that only really happens in films. But you'll find other people. I did. At the leavers ball. I ended up going stag, which was annoying, but I didn't leave stag. That was months ago, and so far everything is great. |

Heh, wouldn't it be great if life was like the movies? You've got more guts than me, Wintermute. I never would think of going to one of those things alone. But, hey, I'm thinkin' that maybe I should sometime. :thumb: |
*shrugs* I had to go. Everyone was going to be there, and I'd paid for the ticket and everything. Well, my mum had. About 5 minutes after I arrived though I saw a girl and decided to make it a mission to dance with her by the end of the night (I'm backward enough in that sort of situation that I really do have to make it a nightlong mission :))
Victory! |
^ I wish I'd gone to the leavers' ball too, but a combination of me being single, poor and a loser prevented me. Still at least I got to play Jenga with the family :thumb:
:upset: :upset: Still, I'm happy for you Alex. :thumb: |
Maybe it's just me, but I've noticed that many of us Bassists are like that in social situations...
But the journey isn't what matters, it's the end result. You had victory, my friend. Awesome. ;) |
Come one Foz, you get paid loads. For sitting on a box in a library. Being single didn't stop me, or many other people I could name. And you're not a loser.
But Jenga does rock. (oh, and she's stunning :D) |
Hey, who is "Scarred4life"? I just saw him post "lame" in a thread and close it. Is he the new Bass moderator, or something?
|
no, he must be a wandering supermod. The thought crossed my mind too.
