yeah, what I don't get is that they did The Bitter End twice, and didn't do Welcom To Hell at all. it was really annoying, but I can forgive them, because they did 88.
Man they played Welcome to Hell at the show I went to. Cone looked awesome when he was doing the bass solo. And in the little feedback interlude part, the lighting was so cool it made everything seem really slow. But I didn't get to see them play The Bitter End. How was it live? |
i was kind of upset that they didn't play the bitter end when i saw them, but they did play 88!
dang, they played it twice for me |
Yea I think they extended some parts sometimes.... They'd keep playing a part and Deryck would say something
Or the beginning of motivation steveo was playing the hihats and snare and kept playin it while deryck said sumthin else then they went into the song, or sumthin like that
they do that alot on the dvds |

it was amazing, when dave did the solos = omg!!! I wish they did Welcome To Hell dangit. I wanted to see cone get in his pride |
are they good live? im going to one of their shows
|
does anyone have any recent setlists from sum 41? i seen em twice now, both were amazing... i saw them on the tour they did just before Chuck came out and they played The Bitter End, Welcome To Hell and 1 or 2 other new songs it was great
are they good live? im going to one of their shows
They're awesome live. They have improved so much since AKNF days. You should have heard 88 at the show I went to. It sounded almost exactly like the recorded version. Either Sum was really on their game that night or they're just good all the time. |
I just got a new Marshall MG 250 DFX...starting to think it was a bad decision but anyhow I want it to sound like a poopy punk, kinda like the used, greenday, blink, my chemical romance, sum 41 etc. ...so if any of you could tell me how to set up the equalizer...it has gain, bass, contour, and treble settings..and the same thing on the clean channel...please help me out here, arite thanks.

it's kind of hard to give you settings really because every band you listed all use different settings. I would suggest finding what sounds good to you. |

don't use the distortion on thatamp. you won't get decent tones with it. sorry to tell you, but that amp is not very good at all. |
1 of the best bands but i think they were better with the pop-punk genre, though chuck is pretty cool (What we´re all about rocks!!!)

I've always kind of thought of What We're All About as Sum's worst song. But it's still cool, that's how good they are. |
the original "Dave's posessed hair/what we're all about" was decent. the newer one sucked. except for kerry king's solo, that was pretty badass.
|
i agree

you're one of the coolest n00bs ever. |

I love What We're All About, it's amazing, it's the only rap I listen to, other than that one they did with Ludacris (mainly for the bass intro and dave's solo). Cone needs to get more vocal time. This is like one of the few songs he does anything in vocaly. |
well he does alot of vocals when they play live.

he doesn't sing in that... its dave, deryck, and stevo. in the non-guitar version, he does the beat-boxing. all cone ever sings is backups in fat lip, still waiting, and a few other songs. even when i saw them in concert, he barely sang. |
Cone does a lot of screaming backing vocals for songs like No Reason, Still Waiting, and We're All to Blame. When I saw them live it was really funny because Cone was spitting a lot when he was screaming "All! to! Blame!". But that's only live, I don't know about on albums.
|
i'm sure he does the vocals when they all sing something like the "all to blame" line. but i think dave does most if not all the backup singing if deryk isn't using his own voice in a second track.
|

I know that, but on albums, it's almost always the other three. |

okey dokey, I'm pretty sure that you can hear three people singing at the exact same time in that song, and he is one of them, but I'd have to go back to it again. |
who has the Introduction To Destruction DVD? and no Cross Your Ts And Gouge your eyes isn't the same thing. (though I wish it was)

|

|
