One piece of software that can converts DVDs or files to the movie format and then you just drag and drop/copy and paste into the player's folder.
sounds a tad better. I had to download a freeware program, and reinstall drivers to get it to work |
I'm just happy I can just drag and drop whatever I want to listen to or watch.
Hahahahahah. Quick story about my family, specifically my mom, about our trip to Universal Studios a couple summers ago.
My mom isn't big on roller coasters and scary things. But, since The Mummy was the brand new ride (and the building it was in was pretty impressive), she wanted to go in. Little did she know it was actually a ride (even though I told her that). Of course, she's asking the workers there "Is this scary?" and things like that, and so naturally they have to act like it is: "Oh, definitely, the scariest ride we have - it'll chill you to the booooooone!" So, while we're sitting in line, my mom is pretty much on ultimate freak-out mode. She could have bailed so many times and I would have gone with her (I never saw any of the Mummy movies so I didn't really give two shits and a fuck about the ride to begin with), but nope, she sat down next to me in the cart. To make a long story short, she went from ultimate freak-out mode to screaming lunatic, especially when the tracks change and you fall straight down backwards and then on an angle, and getting misted, and seeing all the animations and 'scary noises,' and what-have-you. And so, that's probably the scariest thing my mom will ever do in her life - and she survived. And she never told the story as in, "I conquered this ride even though I was petrified," it's always, "Oh my God, it was terrible, it was scary as hell, I could barely walk after because it was so scary..." and so on. Eventually, I got her to tell the real story to her co-workers when I went out to lunch with her on her lunch break with her co-workers, and now she has some form of pride in doing that ride. It was still funny as hell, though.
A little late, but this reminds me of the story of when my family went to Disney adn my mother and sister went ot Fantasyland while my brother, dad, and I went to the Extra-Terror-Estrial Alien Encounter. This was about 6 years ago give or take, so my brother wasn't even in high school yet. Anyway, we got in line, feeling very anxious but determined to get through this ride. Keep in mind, this is long before they converted the ride to (gag) Stich's Adventure and totally pussified it. The pre-show had my nerves going wild. Very sinister. Then the show itself began. We were in the left side of the theater so when the alien was transported into the tube it was looking right at us. It looked pretty real. The alien broke out and the lights went dead, I felt a hot blast of wind on my face and immediately buried my face in my shoulder harness. I was freaked. My dad is sitting between my brother and I though laughing in bemusement. He always loved these sort of things because he enjoyed being there then figuring out how it was done later. Anyway, it was a pretty intense show. Last all of two minutes, but felt like a half-hour. Part of the show was that they were supposed to send in a technician to diffuse the situation and the alien ate him. They sprayed warm water on your face to simulate blood spray. One guy across the theater shouted, "Don't eat me alien, eat this one!" As the alien was supposed to walk through the theater, you felt your harness press down on you accompanied by a thud of the alien's footfall. You felt its hot breath from above. It was insane. When all was said and done, I was shaken, my dad was laughing his ass off and my brother... poor Nick was rendered mute for an hour. We went on Mr Toad's Wild Ride to try and snap him out of it. He started talking again, but he refused to look at my dad the rest of the day. |
they didnt have that when i went this year :upset:
|
oh man. i went on that with my family. my sister was terrified. she was screaming through the whole thing. when they guy asked "everyone ok in there?" she screamed no. it was hilarious. we still make fun of her.
they didnt have that when i went this year :upset:
Yeah it sucks they removed it. They replaced it with the same idea thing except with That Stitch dude. The Alien Encouter was an awsoem ride. They took it out because of complaints of how scary it was. |
You guys have heard of the Puyallup fair right?
|
The Alien Encouter was an awsoem ride. They took it out because of complaints of how scary it was.
Pussies. Apparently, those who worked the ride would actually take bets on what percentage of the kids leaving the ride each time would have nightmares that night. |

How has your day been? |
I have Law tomorrow and English Lit on Tuesday.
And I'm just fucking tired!
Me too. I've only got Biology left, then a four day weekend (well, one. I'm working the other three). I'm so wiped. I was just down in my room playing guitar. It sounded so awful and lazy. I was eventually just lying there, eyes shut, and playing guitar. I gave up because it sounded so awful.
Hey guys. How does that kind of forensics work?
