My Opinion On It: Stairway is the Best Zeppelin song. This is comming from a guy who has heard all of their songs. It is literally miles in front of the rest. I main judgement on the reason why you guys are bashing it is because it is popular.
Popular songs will be called overated. Maybe it is the most n00b Led Zeppelin song but it is still by far the best. Wouldn't we all love to say "Stairway is ****ing overated, Rain Song and No Quarter owns it hardcore, **** noobs and their stairway obsession". Maybe the fact that it is overplayed to the max puts a bias on the whole view of Stairway, people can call it boring. But looking impartially, at lyric, musical composition and just the whole piece in general, I believe it is their finest work. Stop bashing it just to be different. btw: Who ever says you have to wait 6 minutes of boredom for the last 2 minutes of good stuff is retarded.
i know this was many pages ago but id just like to say i wasnt bashing it. i never said it was a bad song i just it wasnt their best. also im not saying that just so i can be different i truly believe it was not their best song, the rain song and no quarter most definitely own it. |
Go to the chat^now!
The chat sucks balls.
that's because i'm not in it yet.

Don't worry, you were right in the first place. It has nothing to do with being different, the first 6 minutes of stairway are boring, regardless of the fact that it gets played on the radio. |

this is true. when is the poll going up? |
The rest of the song wouldn't be as good without the buildup.
Edit: ^a few days after the metal poll closes. Sheesh, PIGS put it up for a whole week :( |
It's about time that poll came up. I am anxious.
Can I see the list one last time?
Here ya go.

Lotta crappy bands on that list.
You can make some suggestion for changes if you like. And there are very few bad bands on that list. Some are better than others but they're mostly all really good bands. Plus I bet you haven't even heard of half of them.
I think Free should be on there.
we would need to take somebody out. Who should we take out?
Maybe Heart??
no, try again.
