Cause they're a band that came out of America in the Mid-90's...I hate them automatically.
Thats not a fair stament...

Lord Abortion 08-08-2006 07:29 PM

Like I'm known for those:p

GenuineImitation 08-08-2006 07:31 PM
Like I'm known for those:p
You would be correct my good sir. You have to like either Symphony X or Nevermore though.

Atica 08-08-2006 08:19 PM

I love Into Eternity, Opeth and Megadeth, but not as much as Dream Theater. :p

eug008 08-09-2006 01:05 AM

Yeh, they are the 3 bands that I'm going for.

For those who haven't seen it the Score E-Card/Video trailer

Yeah that looks awesome. Great camera work, and the orchestra looks amazing. Can't wait!!

I like Both in small doses. Symphony X more, smoke and mirrors is a kickarse song.

eug008 08-09-2006 06:51 AM

Those sweeps at the start are just pure awsomness

Surtr 08-09-2006 11:35 AM

Just bought Scenes From A Memory. And...

I love it, pure genious (But then again what DT isn't?)

Atica 08-09-2006 12:50 PM

Symphony X is an amazing band, and the sweeps are great, but Michael's tapping... wow is like...well no words for its greatness.

Moses 08-09-2006 03:21 PM

I think Russel Allen is the best vocalist in metal, easily.

Jev 08-09-2006 05:30 PM

I disagree.

I'm sure you know who my vote goes for ;)

Lord Abortion 08-09-2006 05:33 PM

Mine goes for Bruce Dickinson, but James runs him close.

eug008 08-09-2006 05:33 PM

Allen has the most powerful voice, his voice is mint live too

Shattered_Future 08-09-2006 05:38 PM

My God, seeing Symphony X live was one of the coolest things ever. I wish they got more than 30 min though...

Why does everybody hate Arch Enemy though?

Lord Abortion 08-09-2006 05:45 PM

They're Gothenburg...that's the only reason I need.

Jev 08-09-2006 06:07 PM

In Flames are Gothenburg too and they pwn.

Chu 08-09-2006 07:19 PM
In Flames are Gothenburg too and they pwn.
No.
I like Lord's reasoning here :p

No

I like my Reasoning too.

Inkstar 08-09-2006 08:53 PM

I like Arch Enemy.

pep 08-09-2006 08:58 PM

Me too. And my favorite vocalist in metal is Bruce. There are some things that i dont like about LaBrie when he sings live.

Atica 08-09-2006 09:10 PM

Russel Allen is a great vocalist, I like James but not that much.

GenuineImitation 08-09-2006 09:58 PM

I like Arch Enemy as well. My favorite Gothenburg band is either At the Gates or Dark Tranquility though.

Inkstar 08-09-2006 10:27 PM

Just noticed your avatar Genuine - that is AWESOME. Best show ever.

Kreator2112 08-09-2006 10:31 PM

Yeah Michael Amott kicks arse.

Carcass <3

Dark Tranquillity > Old In Flames > At The Gates > Arch Enemy >>>>> new In Flames

EDIT: Dark Tranquillity > Dream Theater > Old In Flames > At The Gates > Arch Enemy >>>>> New In Flames

Inkstar 08-10-2006 12:28 AM

Dream Theater > life.

K lets get this thread back on track.

I can't stop listening to 8vm (song). It's just such a perfect end to a song, and the album, and the bands career with their record label. I love the last line "this story ends where it began". It just gives me goosebumps everytime.

Kirk's Puppet 08-10-2006 07:10 AM

I personally find Bruce Dickinson overrated. He can't really seem to hit his high notes very well live, he has troubles singing them. He has an alright voice. He's definitely a good singer, no doubt.

Russell Allen is brilliant.

Mikael Akerfeldt > All though :thumb:

Um...what?
How the hell did you come to that conclusion?
