Wow, Morbid Saint and Death sound similiar. I've just notaced that.
Eh, Hypnosia or a more technical Possessed is a better comparison.

metal-militia 07-06-2005 01:00 PM

When i got Seven CHurches the shop also had Beyond the Gates/Eyes of Horror together, but i decided not to get it.

RavenousMetalist87 07-06-2005 02:07 PM

All we have here at my local record shop is the run of the mill, generic thrash. I could probably do some special orders...but I'm too impatient to wait.

UPS hasn't delivered my new Dell yet, and I'm growing inpatient because this computer I'm on sucks...I want my new computer so I can puts my grandest thrash metal on there and blast it loud o.o;;

MAthiAS 07-06-2005 02:11 PM

The only thrash the record shops around me are the big 4 (and even that selection is pretty limited) and the occasional other stuff. Once I saw an Annihilator 2 for 1 set with Alice in Hell and Never, Neverland, but I already had Alice in Hell and I've heard NNL isn't as great... so I'll just download it probably.

metal-militia 07-06-2005 03:01 PM

well the 2 shops near me have stuff like Dark Angel, Abattoir, Xentrix and some other thrash bands, so i guess im pretty lucky.

FatalEnergy 07-06-2005 06:04 PM

My mailman is taking his sweet time getting the mail to my house today, I'm going to really pissed if he dosen't have my cds

Corporal Compendia 07-06-2005 06:11 PM

Mailman was nice to me today! He brought me a Dead Infection CD! Now if he'd just get my Bodies Lay Broken package to me, I'd be a happy man.

whatduffhuck7 07-06-2005 06:59 PM

hey i was wonderering whta you guys thought of my idea.

on my dell dj i have all my music in with the specific genre. i have melodeath, melodeth/thrash, sludge, power metal, grunge, classic hard rock, heavy metal... and then i have Thrash. i have over 6000 songs on my Dj and about 2000 of them is thrash. i ussually play a certain genre when im doing something and i just listen to that specific genre. i dont wanna just have "thrash" cuase there are many different sounding bands like kreator/slayer comparing to anthrax/ megadeth...
so i put them into subgenres of thrash
Death/dark Thrash- sodom, tankard, violator
Grove/technical Thrash- Annihilator, anthrax, Motorhead, pantera
Melodic Thrash- Megadeth, Metallica, Testament
Pure Thrash- Artillery, dark angel, deth angel, destruction, overkill, vio-lence
Speed Thrash- Exodus, Kreator, Slayer
what do you guys think of my categorizing.

i also have melodic Death/Thrash- Strapping young lad, The haunted, Torture squad.
but thats more on the melodeth side than the thrash side.

Oh and the mail came.........................with no fucking cds, I'm going tear that mailman a new asshole

whatduffhuck7 07-06-2005 07:17 PM

what would you do? do not judge them on the names of the categories. judge them and the groups of bands together.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-07-2005 02:15 AM

Just have a 'Thrash' category, with Anthrax, Metallica, Megadeth, Exodus, Overkill, Testament, Artillery in it.

Then 'Extreme' with Dark Angel, Slayer, Sodom, Kreator, Destruction etc in there

'Technical' would be Coroner, Watchtower and that type of stuff. Motorhead are as far away from technical as you can get buddy.

MAthiAS 07-07-2005 02:22 AM
Motorhead are as far away from technical as you can get buddy.
Yeah really.

I've still got all my music on my hard drive or on CDs... I'd get an iPod or Zen Touch if I had XP.

joe_fresh 07-07-2005 05:09 AM

Has anyone got anything by or any information on a band called assorted heap?

So, RCA and/or Corporal, I have Open Hostility, what Razor should I get next?
Never heard of them.

So, RCA and/or Corporal, I have Open Hostility, what Razor should I get next?
shotgun justice is pretty **** good and violent restitution is pretty good.

well said! :thumb:

That Sacrifice sounds good. I almost bought one of their CD's a few months ago but i didn't have the money.

RavenousMetalist87 07-07-2005 01:55 PM

I just wonder if it'd be released here in the US.

I did manage to get my new computer today, but my dad told me the ****ing UPS doofus forgot one package. He dropped off the tower first, but then forgot the speakers. The sad part is I have no monitor >_<

****ing UPS. Anyways, I was listening to Peace Sells But Who's Buying today, and I noticed the main riff to "My Last Words" sounds almost like the main riff to "Hello From The Gutter".

Compare the two. Tell then if there is still no "similarity".

MAthiAS 07-07-2005 04:09 PM
So, RCA and/or Corporal, I have Open Hostility, what Razor should I get next?
If you really dig Open Hostility, the logical choice would be Shotgun Justice. Same style, same singer... and praised more often than Open Hostility. However, I say get VIOLENT RESTITUTION!

Better yet, the Razor musthaves:
Executioner's Song
Evil Invaders
Violent Restitution
Shotgun Justice
Open Hostility(Which you already have anyways, but still, it had to be mentioned)

Get 'em all!!! Executioner and Evil Invaders are different from the other 3 listed, but they are wicked albums indeed, with many o' classics on them.

Terrorzone 07-07-2005 05:09 PM

Razor albums are hard to come by.

Corporal Compendia 07-07-2005 05:55 PM

Not if you live in or near the same city as they do...which I figure I'm the only one here that does, but still. They're not too tough to find online. A few of them are, but the ones that were re-released are easy enough to find.

Lucifericrucifix 07-07-2005 07:40 PM
With the new wake of clans on MX, myself and JMetallica (with help from k'!) came up with idea to create a thrash clan, with sub-clans of your favourite thrash albums. The name of the clan is Titans of Thrash(Insert Acronym of album) e.g Titans of Thrash(RTL). This will allow everyone to have their own individuality and tastes and opinions of their favourite thrash album, whilst still being in a larger group.

Anyone who enjoys thrash as much as the good people as JMetallica and I are welcome to join. Thrash includes, but is not limited to; Exodus, Megadeth, Testament, Metallica, Slayer, Shadows Fall, etc. Even Motorhead fall into this genre (they practically started it). NO FLAMING

As to avoid the massive "fan-boy-dome" that is involved with Metallica, people can select their favourite thrash album of any thrash band, and put the initials of the album in brackets. As myself and JMetallica are lazy arses, we have opted not to create an avatar, but just to adopt the title. KEEP THRASH ALIVE!!
One thing to say.

Thanks for the recommendation, Violent Restitution it is.

metal-militia 07-08-2005 03:48 AM

I haven't seen many Razor albums online, only Decibels and Violent Restitution i think. Suppose i'll have to start using ebay and look there.

At the Gates ...

RCA 07-08-2005 12:08 PM

Anything with the Razor name imprinted on it is worth getting.

As for the At The Gates n00b fuckwad, get the hell out of this thread.

RavenousMetalist87 07-08-2005 02:11 PM

What if I mentioned Dew Scented

Well, personally I think Dew Scented is a good metal band...I know some of you guys are like "eh" about it but to me, it's like Modern-Thrash Vio-Lence.

The reason why I say that is because the music is like...a cross between 1991-2001 Sodom and Enemy of God era Kreator, but minus the Gothen****ed and Melodic influences. It's very thrashy, almost like...riff-o-rama + blastbeats at random times in certian songs, but I swear, it's fast, heavy, and loud.

The vocals...yeah...this is why I said "Vio-Lence of the Modern Thrash Period". You either like the guy's vocals or not. Personally, I can understand him, and it's nothing bad to me. I think it's like Tom Angelripper in a deeper pitch (slightly a deeper pitch) to me to say the least. Or it's like Max Cavalera's voice...almost close if you ask me, but a little higher.

Well, other than that, my monitor came today, so I can finally load all my CDs onto my new computer :D

As for Razor, Decibels is a good CD. Goof Soop has a nice beat to it, and Open Hostility is my kind of anthem.
